Is this being played on last gen consoles?

Inverno999d ago

Looks like more of the same to me tbh. I'm not talking about graphics, gameplay looks like BF4

CorndogBurglar999d ago

That's a good thing. BF4 was the last great BF game. BF1 and BF5 were garbage.

Inverno999d ago

Then why not go back to BF4?

BioShockGX999d ago

Exactly why people are excited.

CorndogBurglar999d ago

"Then why not go back to BF4?"

Because it's old now and it's time for a new Battlefield that's good? Games like Battlefield and even CoD are games that you can't mess with the formula on. With every new installment the gameplay should stay the same with only minor updates that enhance it, plus updated graphics and features.

And really, in my opinion that's how all sequels should be for all games. If you change the formula too much then it stops feeling like the same franchise.

Inverno999d ago

But if the gameplay is the same as BF4 then what does it matter if it's old? And BF4 is pretty good too so aside from from barely any noticeable graphical improvements which don't do anything to enhance the gameplay seems to me there's really no reason to be excited other than it being it being new

CorndogBurglar998d ago

That's cool if you feel that way. I guess I'm just missing the part of what you would expect to be different. It's an online FPS. What exactly do you expect to change with the gameplay? Everything else is different. If you change the gameplay too much then it stops feeling like Battlefield.

For instance, they made changes to the gameplay for BF1 and BF5 and it suffered horribly for it.

I have a feeling that EA is going to give players 10% of weapons then lock the other 90% behind a pay wall on the games release. This is EA after all remember.

Another? ANOTHER?

Is he honestly trying to make out like the last Battlefield was a huge success, not just as a game but as a live service game? I'm sure these guys live in their own echo chambers, they are so far removed from reality or they just like talking out of their arse trying to rewrite history.

Also why say such a tone deaf statement when you know the state of live service games at the minute and how many gamers feel about them. Bigging up the next BF game as live service does not give me any excitement or hype.

''is building ‘another tremendous LIE service’''

This is nothing too new
https://www.eurogamer.net/e...

They had plans of a universe of live service games

Also these studios made 2042 there is no new massive team its the same team
https://www.eurogamer.net/t...

Well same team minus the seattle boys that were canned

This is all again same news different year but it seems very few remember what happened before covid.

At least they put car freshner trees up their asses to think smelling their own farts smells good at this point to be so out of touch.

RaidenBlack4d ago

An Update on Battlefield 2042 and Welcoming Motive Studio to the Team

EA:

While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.

Streamer Claims DICE Paid Over 60 Content Creators for Battlefield 2042 Feedback, Then Ignored It

Streamer Shroud says that DICE paid 60 to a hundred content creators to help develop Battlefield 2042, but ignored every single advice.

GoodGuy0946d ago

No wonder the game ended up the way it did
What they should've done was ask BF fans. Most general content creators typically go for the trend and the top creators stream games like LOL, fortnite, dota, gtaV, battle royale etc.

_SilverHawk_45d ago

A lot of times people want a game to be something else and I'd probably guess a lot of people wanted call of duty or a lot of it's features.

Bf2042 is amazing now but was not so much at launch. A lot of improvements made the game an amazing game with its own identity. I'm hoping the new battlefield game coming next year improves upon everything in bf2042 and is more akin to bf3 and bf4.

Gamingsince198145d ago

I want them to do a new bad company instead

DustMan44d ago

A ton of people have written the game off now. Which is unfortunate because I find it to be one of the best multiplayer shooters available now. I've been aware that a Battlefield game has not launched in a good condition since....I don't remember. So I never played at launch due to the horror stories, but it seems to have pulled a Battlefield 4 and really turned itself around. Good stuff. Love getting 4 kills on an apc with a well placed RPG, or Stinger to a loaded chopper lol. No other game has given me that kind of joy. lol.

Kornholic45d ago

To be fair, I would not listen to content creators/influencers either.

BISHOP-BRASIL45d ago

Look, I wouldn't pee on an influencer if they were on fire, but why pay for their feedback only to ignore it?

Kornholic45d ago

I don't know. Maybe they thought it was a good idea at first but eventually found out that it was best to ignore influencers' opinions?

jznrpg45d ago

I’ll give some advice and take money for it. You can use it or not use it just make sure to pay me

badboyz0945d ago

who would've thought🤷‍♀️

Yi-Long45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

Battlefield fans just want Battlefield to be Battlefield. Which means a focus on Conquest-mode (5/6 flags), some gorgeous and fun maps to play on, 4 balanced classes, and that's it.

The suits keep wanting to turn Battlefield into everything else BUT Battlefield, so first they wanted BF to be more like Call of Duty, so they copied a bunch of stuff from CoD. Then they wanted to take advantage of the Battle Royale stuff, so they went after that crowd. Then they saw the heroes stuff in Overwatch and so they brought in specialists. Etc.

Guys, we just want Battlefield. Not every games has to be everything to all people. Specialize in what makes (made) your series great, which is large(r) maps (appropriate size for the amount of players, which IMO should be 24-32 max, so not just big for bragging brights), integrating vehicle-combat, and just allowing the freedom and flow which made those matches in older Battlefield games so special at times.
