Fatal Frame 5 Wii U Exclusive Outfits Removed From Remaster

Special costumes from the WII U version like Zero Suit Samus and Princess Zelda won’t be making to the remaster likely due to the fact that Nintendo wants to avoid seeing their IPs portrayed on anything other than Nintendo’s own hardware.

Well i would get that for ps/xb but are they at least in the switch version?

autobotdan990d ago

The people(like me) that purchased the Nintendo Wiiu at November 2012 launch for 349 dollars deserve something exclusive for their old WiiU. My 2012 launch model Nintendo Wiiu will at least always have exclusive Fatal Frame costumes lol

The WiiU got me back into Nintendo. If you look at all the WiiU games getting remastered for the Switch, it was actually a great system.

Nintendo doesn't' want their IPs portrayed on anything other than a Nintendo system.... Anyone else completely mindblown by this revelation?

autobotdan990d ago

It took me a couple years to purchase the switch. I was too upset when Nintendo abandoned the wiiu so fast. I got the wiiu on the very first day it was out and I wasn't going to help Nintendo with the switch

CobraKai990d ago (Edited 990d ago )

I know what you mean. Even MS didn't abandon the ONE that fast. The one thing that pissed me off is that I genuinely feel they gimped the WiiU version of Breath of the Wild. The WiiU controller was made for the Sheikah Slate in game, but it I feel it was removed so they can have parity for the Switch. I love my Switch, but my U aint going nowhere. Plus I still gotta finish Xenoblade

The WiiU was such an underrated system with good games. The Switch continually gets a free pass just like the original Wii.

I would totally upgrade my wife's Wii for a Wii-U if only they hadn't removed GameCube compatibility. I have no idea why they did that.

CobraKai987d ago

I dunno either. I sold my Wii because I still have my GameCube with component cables. It’d been cool if they had GC compatibility for U

Wait. I thought Fatal Frame was a Nintendo IP after some sort of deal with Tecmo? No? (Genuinely don't know, if someone can explain).

vergilxx3990d ago

But it wasn't created by Nintendo and it was on ps2 as well

Concertoine990d ago

People theorized over the years that Nintendo had some partial ownership over the games because they’ve only appeared on Nintendo consoles since 2008.

It seems more like they had limited time publishing rights or financed the past few entries. Or maybe Tecmo was seeing more success as one of the only horror games on Nintendo consoles.

plmkoh990d ago (Edited 990d ago )

HODL your physical copies of Fatal Frame. I expect $300-$500 in another 5 years.

fsfsxii990d ago

because of a bunch of costumes? lmao tf

plmkoh990d ago

Lmao FF5 is already worth up to $200 and Ltd $300+ today. Enjoy

fsfsxii990d ago

only an idiot would pay such a price for an old ass game on a dead system

TricksterArrow989d ago

I tend to agree. Though there are collectors...

I mean that was sort of obvious.
There was literally nothing on this franchise, then they ported Maiden of Black Water likely because it was the easier one to translate to modern devices being a Wii U title and all. And now we are getting a remaster of the 4th title. So it stands to reason that Maiden of Black Water was successful enough to start the whole process.

A remaster of the Fatal Frame 2 remake that was on Wii would be very welcome as well. That game is great. Scared the crap out of me the first time I played it as well lol.
