Recent trailers for the new Switch version of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water have suggested that the game will be digital-only in the west. We’ve followed up with Koei Tecmo, and can confirm that will indeed be the case. A physical version is not planned for North America or Europe.
The PlayStation 4 has some of the best horror games to offer. Be informed that we hold no responsibility if you can't sleep at night.
Koei Tecmo confirmed that the success of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water contributed to the new remaster of Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
I mean that was sort of obvious.
There was literally nothing on this franchise, then they ported Maiden of Black Water likely because it was the easier one to translate to modern devices being a Wii U title and all. And now we are getting a remaster of the 4th title. So it stands to reason that Maiden of Black Water was successful enough to start the whole process.
A remaster of the Fatal Frame 2 remake that was on Wii would be very welcome as well. That game is great. Scared the crap out of me the first time I played it as well lol.
Daily Video Game writes: "Xbox Store has a new digital game sale going on right now, offering up to 80% off on various Japan-inspired games for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One gamers!"
They could at least make a special edition for the west with a physical copy. Similar to the original Wii U game and the EU version.
we should be thankful we even get the game over here.
Good thing the Switch is region free.
If only it was getting a physical release. And not just exclusive to Japan/Asia.
This game announcement was my favorite from all of E3. Only to then find out it's digital only. Except in Japan/Asia who are getting a physical release and only on Switch and PS4. Xbox is my preferred platform. Only previously got to play Fatal Frame series. When I tried Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Director's Cut back on the original Xbox. Wish they would update and re-release all the games. And make a new one. Also make it available as physical and on all consoles.
Limited Run Games needs to get on this
