Halo Infinite Technical Preview First Look Stream Announced

343 Industries will be giving a first look at the upcoming Halo Infinite flight test tomorrow.

I got one - but I don't even have a Series console and it's not clear that the beta is available on PC or XB1... it just says more details in the next few days.

Nitrowolf21376d ago (Edited 1376d ago )

I'll be happy to take that off of you if it's only for series consoles :D

Sadly I didn't get one this time around. Better luck next time I suppose

Orchard1376d ago

My buddy said the same :P but it looks like it's tied to whichever gamertag you linked to the Waypoint portal & insider program in the past :(

Maybe they'll announce it for XB1 but I suspect it's going to be Series only.

The blog does mention they are targeting One, Series and PC. It also mentions the modes, weapons and features availabe, its not yet a PvP test

https://www.halowaypoint.co...

“ The number of Insiders being invited, and the criteria by which these Insiders are selected, will vary given the specific scope and goals for a flight. For the tech preview, we have concurrency targets tied to our overall goals that will inform how many total Insiders should be invited. Within that pool of players, our first priority will be ensuring we have a broad distribution of platforms (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and different PC configurations)”

Orchard1375d ago (Edited 1375d ago )

That's good to know - would've been nice for them to put that info in the mail...

I'll be trying it on my PC and X1X then (assuming my invite works for all - no idea what flighting options I set... that was a while back) - I do have a 2013 Xbox One that I'm tempted to dust off to see how it looks and runs :P

I assume it works on XB1.

Orchard1375d ago

From the blog above, I was wrong and it will be on XB1, Series and PC.

Excited to see some footage. The game looks so much better since last years reveal. The delay looks to have really paid off.

Yeah, even if its not a PvP test yet Im curious to try out the weapons/maps and see how everything looks (even if its definitely a build thats a few months old).

Should be fun to play a bit against the different levels of AI bots and try out the firing range and battlepass/store features to get an idea of how it will be in the final game

brewin1375d ago

Indeed it is starting to shape up nicely! The delay was a tough call, but looks like the right call was made. I havent been this hyped for a Halo game since Halo 3!

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Even Halo’s biggest voice actors have heard nothing “at all”  about Xbox’s new projects

Maybe they were replaced by AI.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop166d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia166d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator165d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
