VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Cotton Reboot won't grant the Cotton series the cachet of Space Invaders, or even Gradius, but it will make a lot of shoot-em-up fans happy. This is a fine remake, with new mechanics, flashier gameplay, reimagined visuals, and reworked sound. As a bonus, it includes a score attack mode, a port of the 1993 X68000 version of Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams, and online leaderboards. Some of the warts of the original title remain, and the arranged version is a touch too chaotic at times, but in general this is the best way to enjoy the very first Cotton game."
