This year, Portal 2 celebrated its 10 year anniversary. It’s a milestone that, despite the game’s renown, has hardly been marked with the unbridled jubilation it deserves.

Crazy how long it's been

They need to hurry up and do a third game, Ellen McLain isn't getting any younger, if she passes then I don't know if GLaDOS could be replaced

I would love a Portal 3, but I don't know if Valve does.

I'm surprised they haven't done a Portal game for VR.

Even just putting 1&2 in VR would seem like a perfect fit.

I want anything from Valve that isn't a VR

You know in a way it's kind of a blessing that Valve hasn't worked on sequels. Look at the way things are right now. Sequels rarely have actual substantial improvements or evolution of gameplay. They're basically more of the same but prettier and with better animations and that seems to distract us in the moment until later you realize that you're basically playing the same game.
I always think of KH and how much of a difference there is between it and KH2 and I see it as how sequels should strive to be. Unpopular opinion but the more I think of it the more I realize that TLoU part 2 is a more of the same but prettier. You look at what Valve did when they finally decided to bring back Half Life and most will tell you it's still Half Life but they used existing tech to actually bring an evolution of gameplay of it rather than just make more of what 2 was. I see that as a win.

EA has been releasing the same Fifa game on switch for 3 or 4 years now. And unless you have been living under a rock there are plenty of cookie cutter sequels all over gaming, movies and all other forms of media. Ubisoft had to shake up their company for many things but among them releasing the same game over and over in different series not even the same one. Not to mention Fenyx while fun was nothing more than BoTW with a Unisoft thumbprint on it. So yes, sequels and the last gen of open world Mish mashed rpgs action games rarely have actual substantial changes in gameplay, story, rpg build mechanics and otherwise.

You can enjoy something and still be critical of it. Being critical is how things are improved.
