Will Battlefield 2042 AI soldier bots be bad for the game, or work in its favor? MP1st along with Battlefield content creators & more weigh in.
If it gives me the opportunity to play with a friend and only bots on the big maps then I like it alot.
I think that's confirmed. Also, it will help the game's longevity. I think the main concern now is, how good or bad are the bots? Too good and they become an issue, too stupid, and they become fodder. But given how bad Joe Rambo is at team play. AI bots might be better squad mates. I had squad mates in past BF games that didn't deploy med or ammo packs unless THEY needed it. Yeesh!
I think we need to see it in action before speculation. In theory I love it.
I agree. in fact it would make me more comfortable while learning maps etc.
Sometimes I just like to sit back and relax with bot matches. A welcome addition, as far as I go. The original titles had them, but they were mediocre to say the least.
I'm all for bots but it's silly they can't be turned off, given there track record in single player for AI i can't imagine bots on these kind of maps will be great.
I think they'll pretty quick turn off AI for ranked and official servers and likely leave it to just specific playing with friends options. Or maybe they'll only use if the minimum required players aren't in a game as that was always annoying in BF4 when you were in a match with 15 people waiting for I think it was 24 atleast to start the official match and your just running around being dumb for a bit. Maybe if it's just in those situations until the minimum required shows up then I think that's good
If it's done kinda like how Titanfall bots were done then it'll be cool with me
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Depends on the bots! Some bots are terrible but if they set the Ai right then it'll ok at best but I doubt they get this right day one.
Sounds great to me..
If it's a situation where 25% of a server is consistently made up if bots, that will be lame. If it's more the case that a bit takes over a spot or two while people come in and out of the game, that will be fine. I am glad it has them as an option to play with on your own, though. As someone who still breaks out the 2004 Battlefront from time to time, I'd much rather have bots to set up custom multiplayer with than a tacked on campaign.
I think they should only use them to make sure they hit the minimum required players and once people join it replaces them. Once say over 60 are in a match no more bots. Unless you're doing one of the all not matches with friends or something which I think was a great option for those who can't keep up. I know my first times playing bad company one weren't fun for like the first week or 2 because I had to learn it after playing CoD. So that's good
Fine by me. Put them in the empty spots so a server is always full, then when an actual player joins, replace the bot with them.
No bots on a regular match. That should be only on custom matches or something.
If it allows bots only mode for offline play like Counter Strike on Xbox then I might consider BF 2042. You know there will be times when servers will be spotty or down for maintenance or worse, this will come in handy. This also won't make the game a paperweight or unplayable when they decided to pull the plug on servers. Bots was the reason Counter Strike have such longevity you can still play them long after Valve shut down the servers.
BF2 had them so this makes sense especially waiting forever for a full server.
bad like cod
