The Monkey King is back, this time with Robots. Check out Chris Z's review of Sun Wukong vs Robot from Ratalaika Games, Bitca, & Indienova.
Ryan writes: "If Sun Wukong VS Robot was longer and structured a bit more like a traditional metroidvania where the upgrades were tied to progression, it could well be a great little game. As it is, it’s a good challenge and does manage to kill a couple hours, and so if you grew up playing old Game Boy or NES games, then Sun Wukong VS Robot might be a nice nostalgia trip."
WTMG's Leo Faria: "You can have a tiny bit of fun with Sun Wukong vs. Robot. It’s not inherently terrible. It’s just one of the most generic and forgettable metroidvanias I’ve played in a while. It offers nothing new to the genre, its visuals are lackluster, and its overall design is just beyond bland. If you’re a die-hard fan of metroidvanias, or if you’re a platinum trophy hunter (you can grab two of them with one purchase, as PS4 and PS5 trophies are stacked separately), then you might be able to enjoy a couple of hours with it, and then forget it like the rest of the gaming populace. If not, well, you’re still going to forget it like the rest of the gaming populace…"
