Yet some strange design decisions only come together to push you away again. With a little tweaking, this could be a great game, but the way things are set up does it no favours."
WTMG's Thomas Medina: "And all in all that’s it for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground. It’s a very solid fun game that I’m definitely going to be spending some more time with. I love the look of the game, the playstyles of the chosen factions, and the roguelike nature keeps me coming back. I’m also slowly getting deeper into the Age of Sigmar setting, and this game is a great intro point. Also I can’t ignore just how easy it would be to add Faction DLC, so I’m really hoping it sold well enough to get some. Games like these thrive on new toys to play with, and Age of Sigmar has plenty of those to add. Past that though, I’m hoping this kind of game sets the standard for future games in this setting. More solid and fun, less unpolished and broken please."
Joe LaRue of The Koalition writes: Warhammer 40,000: Age of Sigmar is an expansion of the Warhammer Game shop that came out about 6 years ago to expand on the vast fantasy world that they already had running. This new change replaced the Old World medieval-style feel of the game with a new and exciting multi-dimensional Mortal Realms. This also in turn introduced players to new factions and new play styles. For some players, it was a kick in the face to have this new world brought forward, but for others, it meant starting over from scratch and learning all over again.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground attempts to merge the roguelike genre with the strategic tile-based RPG genre. It’s a strange mix, and unfortunately the hard reset and waiting to be strong enough mar the feeling of progression usually appreciated in the tactical genre. Glitches and bugs need to be ironed out, and there are a few odd choices of how to attack and such, but with a little polish it could be a quality title.
