Cool, I always felt there might be a next-gen port so stayed away from the original, even though its tempting to boot up the PS+ version I have. Once I'm able to get hold of a PS5 this and Returnal will be top of my hit list.

I played the PS4 version on Plus, but waited for the PS5 to physically purchase it. I felt the story arc was gonna be completed with a PS5 version and I wanted the game on a single platform.

Someone please clarify something for me. I get that all the dlc that was available in the deluxe edition will be free when you upgrade to the ps5 version but the episode with Yufi, will I need to purchase that and where can I make that purchase?

You will need to buy the Yuffie episode for $19.99 on the PS Store.

(that's according to two articles on a google search. Considering that the Save Upload is kinda the same as Spider-Man, I wonder if Yuffie DLC will be accessed the same way as how Standard Edition Miles Morales owners can upgrade to get Remastered, which is also only accessible through the in-game interface)

I had a lot of doubts, since i'm a big fan of the original game. But then i bought it and it's wonderful.
It's a great mix of JRPG and ARPG. If you liked FFXV (that i hated...) you have big chances you'll love this one.

No this is not the case at all. You get the DLC (extra summons, etc.) that came with the original PS4 Deluxe addition for free via an items pack download when you upgrade to the PS5 version. The Yuffie DLC will cost extra.

Ok, so I have a ps4 digital standard edition that I bought, on June 10th, will I get the ps5 graphical upgrades for free?

You only have to pay the $20 to play the yuffie chapter correct?

Only people who bought the game, can get a PS5 upgrade version for free, digital or physical copy. People who has the game via PS Plus for free will not get the PS5 upgrade. I think the Yuffie DLC is the only one you have to buy.

OK cool, I'm just not sold on the yuffie episode, especially if it's anything like the episodes in ff15. What I'm afraid of though is they will lock yuffie behind this paywall and not let me use her later in the game, when part 2 comes out.
