Days Gone developer Bend Studio says it's working on a new IP

I think this is healthier for them, keep trying new things instead of putting all bet on Days Gone, they are too young and inexperienced as a studio. I would love to see Days Gone 2 one day, maybe after this next project.

Sony Bend is not a young studio. Is true that they are inexperienced since they never done a new IP and haven't made a home console game for more than decade until Days Gone. They made Syphon Filter games for PS1, PS2, PSP and Resistance Retribution PSP, and Uncharted Gold Abyss PSVita.

I think it's fair to say that the current team is a bit inexperienced as they were a MUCH smaller, different studio before Days Gone. That's not something that can be said about most of Sony's studios who've been making AAA console games for a long time.

And that's what I meant, young in experiences, Days Gone was their first full AAA, while it is not a bad game, you can see the quality is at least a tier below other Sony exclusives, they will get there if they don't give up, but it is good to try a few different directions to find out what they are strong at.

This was known.
After Sony denied a sequel to Days Gone, they tried throwing them on an Uncharted title.
The studio was vocally against it, and now they're working on something new.

The news is based on a tweet Bend just put out. There were discussions about a new IP being developed back in April, but this is confirmation of said game.

Not really. We knew they were working on something new but there was never confirmation of it being a entirely new IP. There were people begging for them to make another syphon filter but that's all I ever saw/heard about it.

Them working on something new is old news but announcing it being a new IP is definitely fresh news... To me at least

I really loved dying Light; very much looking forward to the sequel. The parkour and combat and just the overall feel of the game really appealed to me. I loved the tone of it.

Hopefully they've expanded on that foundation along with the new.

Aww shame, i was hoping to see how they could improve on days gone. Well hopefully their next game is another big title, i'd hate to see them go back to making smaller games.
