Instinction Dev: DualSense Utilization Will Let Players Recognize Weapons Even With Eyes Closed

Instinction developer Hashbane Interactive tells MP1st that the PS5 DualSense will let players recognize the weapon even with their eyes closed.

Dualsense is so amazing the fact alone of knowing about developers working with it puts their games on my potential buy list.

That would be amazing though. I mean, being able to tell weapons, or items just by the haptic feedback alone. Would make it way more than just a gimmick.

Doesn’t matter if you’re holding a plastic controller, with what dualsense can do, if properly implemented by developers is enough, your brain will fill in the blanks to complete the illusion :)

A plastic feel? I'm not sure what you mean by that. I've never noticed a plastic feel with a glock.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but I'm pretty familiar with a glock, and I'm never noticed a plastic feel. I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the feel in real life, or do you mean the controller?

In Astro’s Playroom what you feel with the controller when walking on different surfaces is different enough to trick your brain into accepting the type of surface you’re walking on.

I may have used the "plastic" word because many parts of a glock are made of plastic, but yeah a glock def doesn’t feel like plastic, but what I mean is from glock to M4 to other, if the controller uses the same kind of difference in haptics then our brains will indeed be tricked into believing what the devs are trying to do.

Edit: Although Glock aficionados don’t like the word plastic, Glocks are made of nylon-based polymer, which is a plastic.

Dualsense is a pretty awesome step forward in terms of your "standard" controller.

I know that something can come of this, but if I am being honest I turn off the haptic feedback in shooting games, more so in multiplayer it's disadvantageous to have to put in more work to ads and pull the trigger than your opponent will have to.
This doesn't mean its a bad gimmick, just needs to be better realized in other games as well.
