Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection was announced by Koei Tecmo, but many fans are unhappy and believe it's the wrong games being remastered.
Thomas Mahler: "Since it's quite bananas that a lot of players still do not understand the economy behind game development, I thought it'd be best to just break down a real example of a really successful first-time developer who managed to make a deal with a publisher. "
I wouldnt call a game that costs 10 million to make and had over 30 people from different companies working on it an indie game.
Seriously, no.
I don't get it..
He starts with 10M cost for the game excluding marketing and continues to detract "other"costs...
Why are the costs of storefront, engine etc not included in the 10M?
Where did those $10 million go though? It’s a loan basically, but didn’t those pay through the development? Essentially the developer got paid $10 million upfront to make a game. If the game didn’t hit $12 million in sales-say $8 million. The publisher lost that money. The developer still got $10 million. Sure, maybe their next game may not be funded-but they wouldn’t have to come up with the $4 million missing. That’s a loss from the publisher.
Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks has revealed a brand new logo/website, and that it is currently working on an unannounced action game.
IO Interactive is doing their own showcase this Friday and have revealed what is in store.
we need a Hitman game that is like the old ones, not too interactive and network based. I want to be able to use every weapon and unlock them for every form of gameplay style. I hate that you get punished in these modern Hitman game for using a rifle rather than your silent pistol.
I'm a fan and I'm not unhappy I cant wait for it to come out.
I can't say that I'm unhappy. Because I never played the Sigma versions of the games, so I only know about them by word of mouth and who knows I might be suprised with the end product. If anything my big concern is how well the PC version will run.
And at least the original version can be played in any modern Xbox console by means of the backward program. Is not a perfect solution, but at least it's there.
"But censorship is not the most important issue by far. The biggest change to note and what makes many fans unhappy are direct gameplay changes. Some of the stages of Ninja Gaiden 2 are completely different in Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma. The maps and layout are the same, but the enemies’ placements and waves are like night and day."
Very intelligent typed article. Enemy placements and waves are like night and day-so true the Sigma 2 port is ruined here
"At the end of the day, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 are pretty much different games instead of an original and its port. Fans are unhappy and sad that even with these new remasters, the only way to play the original Ninja Gaiden 2 is still having access to an Xbox 360."
- this statement is true that NG2 and Sigma 2 feel like two completely different NG games. However the last statement of the article-"the only way to play the original Ninia Gaiden 2 is still having access to Xbox 360" - is false information. You can play Ninja Gaiden 2 on a Xbox One and you can play NG2 Enhanced on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X in stunning Near 4k resolution and full 60fps. The only way to play the original Ninia Gaiden 2 is still having access to Xbox 360, Xbox One or Xbox Series consoles
