“ It is roughly 7.5 to 7.7 GB as per the listing seen on the eShop.”

Should’ve been $29.99. I like Nintendo but they seriously need to drop the prices for remasters.

Whoseverleaf1529d ago

I totally agree on that price point. Gouging for old games is basically stealing.

It's definitely shitty but, its a good business move. No chance Nintendo won't sell at least a million copies of this. My guess is they'll pass the wii version sales.

control on ps5 is smaller in size than control on ps4 ... doesn't make it a worse version

smashman981528d ago

I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

zahdab1528d ago (Edited 1528d ago )

That even a smaller sized version could be a better version so there is no point comparing file sizes to dermine the effort that went into remastering the game ... they could have released a smaller sized version more suited to the switch disk capacity with a bit more effort

smashman981527d ago

I mean that wouldn't be possible on the switch without compression. The reason control ultimate edition is smaller on ps5 is due to the SSD on the PS5.

zahdab1527d ago (Edited 1527d ago )

The original ran off a disc.. with disk read speeds i needed to have uncompressed files coz of slow disc read speeds, cartridges and installed versions should have way better read speeds they could've definitely had different file formats... it's a lazy effort ... on the flip side as someone who owns the game on wii / wii u i'd rather play the dolphin emulated version with texture mods at 4k and 60fps.
anyway if people are happy shelling out 60$ for a low effort "Remaster" more power to them.

DragonWarrior191529d ago

HD graphics will do that to a game.

jznrpg1528d ago (Edited 1528d ago )

60$???????? I can wait until it drops . I know Nintendo is stupid greedy and it may be years but I will wait f them ! For 60$ it should be 2-3 games .

smashman981528d ago

Agree that Nintendo is greedy. But I don't see this dropping for a long time.

Nintendo Select: 5 Switch Games That Deserve A Second Chance

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "The Nintendo Switch has been one Nintendo’s most successful systems ever, both measured by the number of units sold and the quality of its titles, but if there’s one thing this generation has been missing it would have to be the Nintendo Selects line, bringing existing titles that had paid their dues back at bargain prices. With the Switch now entering its twilight years, and there being few new titles in store for the foreseeable future, what better time could there be to bring back this tried-and-true tradition? While the actual realization of it may be doubtful given how rigid both hardware and software prices have become in recent years, that only gives us all the more reason to dream up a hypothetical lineup of our own.

For this article the specific focus will not be on those massive multi-million evergreens that the lineup would no doubt contain a few of to cement its value, but instead on games that for one reason or another fell short of their full potential the first time around and deserve a second chance to reach more players at an affordable price. Let’s get started."

I really want Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, can't believe that hasen't been ported. I'm playing Skyward Sword at the moment and I'm almost finished, but it's so long and the controls are so bad, even without motion. Astral Chain is fantastic though, they should make a sequel.
