Battlefield 6 must deliver five key things in order to save the series

Battlefield 6 doesn't have to be anything less than a reboot for the entire franchise. It is perhaps the last chance to reactivate loyal fans. For this, Dice has to do everything that the arsenal has to offer and what made the series once big and well-known.

Reboot of Battlefield?
Other than BFBC1 & BC2 and some standalone expansions ... most games in the franchise are independent entries.

solideagle1597d ago

1. historically correct
2. no women
3. no prosthetics
4. no guns (inspired by hacksaw bridge)
5. make your own excuse

I suggest they try not to do too much.. They end up average everytime.. Get gameplay and tech right, then improve from there

Man you are such a baby. Bunch of man babies crying about women in the game. There were teenage girl murder squads killing nazi officers in WW2

UltraNova1596d ago

1) BF6 will be a modern or post-modern setting so women are a given. They only need to avoid, *cough BF5 *cough, spending too much time talking that they are in the game. It's normal for women characters to be in a modern war game so... act like it.
2) Entire map Levolution (a true next-gen experience not half-backed)
3) Complete on release
4) As little bugs/glitches as possible on release
5) Good networking code with evenly spread dedicated servers
6) Free MP maps for everyone and low-key cosmetic only MTs.

No female front line soldiers, no anti russian narrative, no left wing identity politics, no weapon skins, no player markers, more iron sight and less scopes, emphasis on squad play and communication, no sticky aim, stronger recoil, more reward for logistical teamwork.

Basically Squad on PC

Activemessiah1597d ago

You had me until stronger recoil...

blocked.

Silly gameAr1597d ago (Edited 1597d ago )

Most of my problems are gameplay and game mode related. A lot of that other stuff I couldn't care less about.

I just want it to go back to being a fun, simple shooter without the ftp features.

BrockEmSockEm1597d ago

I would love a squad leader chat like in Squad where squad leaders can talk to others to coordinate defenses and flanks and suck. I hate how Squad is TOO realistic for my taste. Battlefield feels perfect if it added that to hopefully push more communication.

isarai1597d ago

I just want good gun variety, bfbc 1/2 nailed that beautifully, but after that most gun unlocks felt like i was just getting the same gun i already had just with a small tweak, hell often a gun unlock is a downgrade. Also wouldn't mind a "Hardcore Mode" with more realistic weapon damage like in Cold War.

Sciurus_vulgaris1597d ago

I want the franchise to be more grounded and historically accurate to the presented settings. Also a greater focus on skill.

Our First Look at Battlefield 6's Factions Reveals No Goofy-Looking Operators

Our first look at Battlefield 6's factions will assuage fears for now, as there are no goofy-looking specialists that will ruin the experience.

RedDeadLB1h ago

If there's anything I've learned so far when it comes to this type of thing - No goofy-looking operators YET.

Battlefield 6 Campaign Work-in-Progress Footage Leaks From BF Labs Alongside Battle Royale Images

Battlefield 6 campaign work-in-progress footage has been unearthed alongside artwork for the unannounced Battle Royale mode.

shinXseijuro4d ago

Rooting for this one to be good . I had a good time with Battlefield one at the time and everything it had going on. Hopefully it’ll reignite the spark by delivering a good multiplayer environment and experience just like one had done in the past .

TheColbertinator4d ago

Good time for Battlefield to get my attention again. With Black Ops 7 trying that future crap, I do hope the new Battlefield can keep me busy

JEECE3d ago

"unannounced Battle Royale mode"

Why? Splitgate 2 should have been a lesson to devs not to dilute your game with a fad mode no one wants. No one playing BRs is going to switch to Battlefield to play one, and the old BF fans that actually want to play the game just want the real modes (mainly Conquest and Rush).

shinXseijuro3d ago

It’s an extra mode. Battle royal is the defacto mode for all multiplayer fps shooters now .

JEECE3d ago

Tell me more about how successful Battlefield's last attempt at a Battle Royale was.

KyRo3d ago

@Jeece it was stuck behind a paywall the same way blackout failed behind a paywall too.

JEECE3d ago

@KyRo

Splitgate 2 has a Battle Royale, and it's free to play, yet all the 10s of millions who play them daily are ignoring it. So I guess the paywall isn't the issue.

KyRo3d ago

How is BR a fad? It's been around for a decade now. It's not going anywhere. Do you complain when other games have TDM? Just because you don't play it there are literally 10s of millions of people who play them daily

JEECE3d ago

But you all keep playing the same ones over and over. I'm not saying you all shouldn't have your F2P live service BRs. I'm just saying other multiplayer games that are known for other game modes shouldn't chase that trend. It's the same thing in other areas of life. If a bunch of pizza restaurants open up in my town and get popular, that doesn't mean I want my favorite burger place to start making pizzas. I want them to focus on the thing they are best are, rather than a knockoff version of the trend.

Tsar4ever013d ago

I'm digging what I'm seeing so far, all DICE needs to do now is fix it's weapons and "Fog of Combat" sound design to make it like INSURGENCY: SANDSTORM and I think it'll work out just fine.

MetroidFREAK213d ago

I REALLY hope they say away from goofy skins... if they do, I'll be sure to check this one out

‘Battlefield 6’ Players Revolt Over A Lack Of Weapon Locking

While previews of Battlefield 6 have looked intense and quite good, the game has already stumbled into controversy with its early test.

Muigi31d ago

Really not that big of a deal these tablet babies bitch about everything these days.

JEECE31d ago

If by "tablet babies" you mean kids/teenagers, they are not the ones complaining about this. Trying to appeal to them is the reason EA is doing this. It's the old fans of the series who are mad.

But of course, you knew all that.

Muigi31d ago

Yeah and I’m a throwback fan who doesn’t care…but of course you knew that.

JEECE31d ago

@Muigi

So you're a throwback fan who wants them to go down the same road that led to 2042? Unusual, but taste is subjective I guess lol.

Muigi31d ago

I wanted them to make the destruction back to the Bad Company 2/ Battlefield 3 days. To each their own but a medic with a sniper rifle isn’t going to stop me from buying the game lol.

thorstein31d ago

Non story from Forbes.

The game is in testing.

They're is no "revolt" even the game doesn't have a launch date, isn't finished, and isn't in early access.

jambola31d ago

At a certain point you just have to blame the players
stop going back until it gets better

DaniMacYo31d ago

Battlefield veterans are upset by this. I’m personally not bothered by it. But I can see their point of view.
