Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gets A Quiet Re-Release On Switch, But With An Important Difference

Launched to seemingly no fanfare, you can now buy Witcher 3: Wild Hunt alone for £29.99 from the Switch eShop. Players that already own the Complete Edition can redeem it for free, a move we suspect is designed to stop people accidentally buying this twice.

Cost more to buy all separately.

As stated in the article.

They need to rework the eshop to make things less confusing. 🤔 same goes for the Pokémon expansions since people still get confused by it and get the wrong one... which is dumb since they're the exact same content

I thought this would be a claim about nudity in the game, something I don't think is actually on any games on the Nintendo platforms that I know of.

Applejack1587d ago

I was under the impression that Nintendo was the most lenient when it comes to censorship.

drunkenspy0071587d ago

Huh, any examples? I know they have allowed risque games, but nothing that actually shows nudity that I know of, but interested to know if there is.

Outlawzz1586d ago

Witcher has all the same content on u.s version, meaning sex, nudity etc. Same with multiple other games. They may censor in other countries.

Nintendo has allowed most games to appear in unedited versions. Primarily the niche japanese games.

drunkenspy0071586d ago (Edited 1586d ago )

Not arguing that, my first thoughts was this is what the article would be about.

As for games with actual nudity on the switch, beyond some AAA games like Witcher, any examples of nudity in the Japanese games? I researched some earlier and saw that one game, waifu something, was removed because it did have some actual nudity, not just being lewd which there's plenty of games I saw.

Absolute ripoff for such an ancient game.

Amplitude1586d ago (Edited 1586d ago )

Eh... remasters on other consoles are just the pc version with the settings raised up a bit and for the most part everybody is cool with that

A heck of a lot more work goes into porting to the switch so I get it

Everything is going to switch ....platform is a monster

Terry_B1586d ago

Its like a GOG Console (great old games) ..for the most part.

A switch 2 update might be a nice way to celebrate it for people who brought the switch 1 version

4Scarrs_Gaming15d ago

This is exactly what I was thinking too.

gigoran814d ago (Edited 14d ago )

It will be for a price. unfortunately not like the PS5 where a majority of them were free.

anast15d ago

Cool, can we get a controller sensitivity option for the PS5? Geralt going full sprint when I barely touch the controller is keeping me from playing this game a 3rd time.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games

Actually just picked this up yesterday on Steam, since it's $9.99 for the game and all the DLC. I've owned it for years on Playstation, but honestly never put a whole lot of time into it. Though I knew I had to play through it one day because I loved what I did play. It runs so buttery smooth on PC. Still a really beautiful game with everything maxed out settings-wise at 4K.

Damn man that’s a long ass wait for a game you were feeling good about. I beat it the first time over 9 years ago
