Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gets A Quiet Re-Release On Switch, But With An Important Difference

Launched to seemingly no fanfare, you can now buy Witcher 3: Wild Hunt alone for £29.99 from the Switch eShop. Players that already own the Complete Edition can redeem it for free, a move we suspect is designed to stop people accidentally buying this twice.

Cost more to buy all separately.

As stated in the article.

They need to rework the eshop to make things less confusing. 🤔 same goes for the Pokémon expansions since people still get confused by it and get the wrong one... which is dumb since they're the exact same content

drunkenspy0071547d ago

I thought this would be a claim about nudity in the game, something I don't think is actually on any games on the Nintendo platforms that I know of.

Applejack1547d ago

I was under the impression that Nintendo was the most lenient when it comes to censorship.

drunkenspy0071547d ago

Huh, any examples? I know they have allowed risque games, but nothing that actually shows nudity that I know of, but interested to know if there is.

Outlawzz1547d ago

Witcher has all the same content on u.s version, meaning sex, nudity etc. Same with multiple other games. They may censor in other countries.

Nintendo has allowed most games to appear in unedited versions. Primarily the niche japanese games.

drunkenspy0071547d ago (Edited 1547d ago )

Not arguing that, my first thoughts was this is what the article would be about.

As for games with actual nudity on the switch, beyond some AAA games like Witcher, any examples of nudity in the Japanese games? I researched some earlier and saw that one game, waifu something, was removed because it did have some actual nudity, not just being lewd which there's plenty of games I saw.

Magog1547d ago

Absolute ripoff for such an ancient game.

Amplitude1546d ago (Edited 1546d ago )

Eh... remasters on other consoles are just the pc version with the settings raised up a bit and for the most part everybody is cool with that

A heck of a lot more work goes into porting to the switch so I get it

343_Guilty_Spark1547d ago

Everything is going to switch ....platform is a monster

Terry_B1547d ago

Its like a GOG Console (great old games) ..for the most part.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games

The Witcher 3 PC Optimized Settings: Next Gen Update & Ray Tracing Performance

Even 9 years after its release, The Witcher 3 remains one of the finest RPGs ever. Its detailed world and ingenious quest design have yet to be surpassed by another in the genre. The next-gen update released in late 2022 was a significant visual overhaul, adding ray-traced lighting, upscaling, and frame generation to an already pretty world.

Actually just picked this up yesterday on Steam, since it's $9.99 for the game and all the DLC. I've owned it for years on Playstation, but honestly never put a whole lot of time into it. Though I knew I had to play through it one day because I loved what I did play. It runs so buttery smooth on PC. Still a really beautiful game with everything maxed out settings-wise at 4K.

Damn man that’s a long ass wait for a game you were feeling good about. I beat it the first time over 9 years ago

The Witcher 4 Map Size, Amount of Quests Are "More or Less" the Same as Witcher 3 According to CDPR

According to CD Projekt RED, The Witcher 4 map size and quests will be "more or less" the same as The Witcher 3.

883125d ago

Good. This bodes well for minimal open world "bloat", but enough to be a meaty living experience driven play.

Notellin124d ago

I think Witcher 2 was nearly a perfect size, so I agree with you. CDPR does a good job with avoiding bloat in my opinion.

WolfSeed125d ago

While all other studios are looking to expand and make games bigger, the new woke bunch, CDPR composed of mainly women, want to keep things simple. FANS, SPEAK UP NOW!

Fishy Fingers125d ago

As a fan id rather you just shhhh :)

LOGICWINS125d ago

I think you missed the sarcasm in Wolf's comment lol.

Quality over quantity is what I'd ask for nowadays
pointless vastness is done n dusted ... all open world devs should focus on details and density more ... looking at you Todd for ES6. No need to expand more than Skyrim. Its aptly big. Just cram in more details.
