The Nintendo DS hardware should make make the perfect RTS platform, but we're still waiting for the definitive handheld strategy game to arrive.

Theme Park DS, the latest from EA's Japan studio, looks like it has a good chance of doing the genre justice on the dual-screen portable.

New Theme Park DS trailer excites

If you loved Theme Park back in the Super NES era you are going to love the new DS version, which is looking every bit as good as the original console version.

All the rides, options and music has been crammed onto the DS cart, and this trailer even demonstrates how huge a park you can build - all done with the stylus, which makes park creation easy.

In Theme Park, in case you haven't played it, you must build and successfully run a theme park, earning enough money from the little people to eventually sell your park and move to the next country, where people are a little harder to please.

It's a FUN management sim with astonishing depth, and it'll be available in shops from this Friday.

Theme Park getting ported to DS by EA

Electronic Arts announced the release Theme Park DS in Japan in March, 2007. EA was already working on a DS release of Sim City 3000, but until now we had never seen any confirmation on a Theme park title for the Nintendo DS.

Expect a Western release as well, since the game's original 1994 developer Bullfrog Productions is now part of EA UK.
