I totally agree

However why is that you can mention the same thing with games like REVII / REVIII and everyone gets hostile. It’s not saying “the game is shit” just “why change a franchise from what it was originally, can you see why old school fans are upset”. It’s a tad hypocritical.

Now a spin off Horizon prequel during the war against the machines where it’s more action like and is in first person giving off Killzone vibes, fair enough but not the main games.

I guess we've only had one game in this series. Resident Evil has had how many entries that were always 3rd person.

There were rumours after it initially launched, so who knows, maybe they just needed more power (PS5/PC) or better VR technology (PSVR2)? I'd definitely be up for that - Skyrim was on another level in terms of immersion on PSVR with PS4 Pro!

I never think first person cameras look as good. You see much more of the environment with a wider camera, and also the player model.

First person is literally just a camera moving around.

Would much rather see the cool dodge, hit, roll & attack animations of an actual character.

I much more prefer 1st person narrative driven games. I feel more immersed, as the action and all of the surroundings are up close and personal. Also, 1st person gives me the feeling of actually being the on-screen character, where as 3rd person feels like I'm just controlling "some other character". Lastly, 3rd person controls feel clunky by comparison to 1st person. That said, I'm not interested in unpolished POV mods.

Very few (truly) 1st person story driven narrative game out there though. Most have to cut away to cut scenes to help progress the story.
The Half life and Portal series are the best examples of a good fps story games.

3rd Person is a way better viewing angle for gaming than 1st person.
