Nuraphone Review: An Audible Revolution

Gary, from Total Gaming Addicts, says “When it comes to becoming immersed in sound, there’s nothing quite like the Nuraphone. It excels in transforming the audio of your games, movies or music into more than just sound. It becomes an experience, something that remains with you long after you take off your headset. It’s transformative and utterly, deliciously addictive.”

I want this attachment for my nuras, thanks for the review I love the audio from them, crisp and bassey at same time. Still a bit pricey for a cable with a microphone £50, on top of the 349 for headset, but I guess custom stuff is always expensive.

Interesting, never heard of them before. Curently i am rocking a pair of Phillips Fidelio X1's with a Vmoda boom mic. I'd love to see what you think about this whole package.

The Fidelio X1s are great headphones, but they are very different to the Nuraphone. The Nura sound very rich, whereas the Fidelio give a very natural and clean sound. The open back design on the Philips gives them a wider soundstage than the Nura, which have a much closer sound because of the in-ear inserts.

Both are great headsets, and I couldn't outright say one was better than the other overall. They are suited to different uses, really. The Fidelio are closer to the sound from audiophile headphones, like Audeze's LCD range, whereas the Nura go big on the bass. I'd be more than happy with either of them, though!

It is steep. As a bundle, the extra £20 is bearable, but £50 feels like a bit much. It's certainly worth it to be able to use them for gaming. It's a shame the Nuras use that proprietary connection because there's plenty of great 3rd party mic solutions that would have done fine.
