Dirt 5 Will Release on PS5 At Launch With Free Upgrade From PS4; 4K & 120 FPS Options Supported

Codemasters has been pretty cagey on the release date of the PS5 version of its upcoming racing game Dirt 5, until now.

They are taking full advantage of the DualSense controller as well they said. This will give PS players an experience that you won't be able to get on the Series X.

For this game it won’t look great no matter the console...hopefully it is fun to play though. I miss the MotorStorm series so much. Wish we could have a next-gen game like those.

If there is a difference in resolution, it will be so minimal that you wouldn't even notice it. The best experience will be on Playstation because of the advanced controller.

I'd imagine they will utilize the haptic triggers of both the XB and DS in much the same way. What remains to be seen (or felt) is how they use the rest of the DS.

PS5 doesn't have haptic triggers. They're different. Each console is trying to provide immersion in different ways.

On Xbox the triggers vibrate to make you "feel" the road/action and such. On PS the triggers will be harder or softer to press depending on what you're doing.

You know you should read my comment fully before you reply. DualSense has Haptic feedback yes, in the controller itself. The triggers aren't haptic though. Darth said "haptic triggers".

@above, my bad for using the wrong terms but you guys get the idea. both now have something in their triggers that this game can make use of when previously only the XB did. so while I may not have worded it exactly as each side wants to have it stated... that doesnt make my comment any less viable.

Both versions will likely have some sort of trigger based feedback (whatever its supposed to be called) because now both controllers have that sort of thing.

If I give the XB1 one thing I really liked are the rumble triggers in racing games. That worked quite well and isn't in the DS4 - but then I prefer a wheel over a controller more. Curious to see how that'll be different in the DS5 controller and glad Sony got this in, finally.

Like I said before it will be the console exclusive features that will play a huge role this time around. While one ☝️side will say our console is more powerful with better Ray Tracing and slightly better framerate, the other side will say hello 👋 to the Dualsense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback! Also say hello to PSVR support for Hitman 3 with our console being the definitive edition!

The side with the most powerful console will say, yes that is great 👍 but we have Gamepass! Gamers don’t have to pay $60-$70 up front. The other side with more advance features would say cool 😎 story bro, we have a better UI with every game integrated with it for a more customizable experience!

Motorstorm needs a revival, Underrated game and cannot understand the sales of Pacific Rift etc.

It would look amazing on PS5 that's for sure.

But if you get a RPCS3 you can play it at higher rez and better framerate if you have a decent pc.
