Best racer sim since GT2 and GT3

And then they patched the game and screwed everyone over.

CS7765d ago

@JackBNimble

Imagine buying a $5 burger and halfway through they take it away, walk some distance away and tell you can come get it for free or pay $1 to have it brought back to you.

That’s what PD did lol.

Driving mechanics and pure gameplay is amazing tho but boy does the last week leave a bad taste.

Backlash is justified.

Stranger of Paradise on PS5 outsold the PS4 version more than 4-1. The fact that every major AAA release is selling far more on PS5 (this is true of Elden Ring, Horizon, and GT7 recently, but it was even true of things like Hitman 3 and Tales of Arise last year), but Five Nights at Freddy's sells far better on PS4 should tell you everything you need to know about which audience has moved forward and which audience has stayed back.

MoonConquistador766d ago

I try to keep away from generalising things and looking for stuff that isn't there and try to look at the facts instead.
So from your lamentable post, there's going to be some games that sell better on the PS4 and some that sell more on PS5.
Personally, I bought Horizon on PS4 because it was cheaper and had a free upgrade. I got the PS5 version of GT7 because it doesn't have a free upgrade. So I appear in both of the "audiences" you seem to be highlighting here so can you go on to elaborate what this tells you other than you're talking out your ass?

JEECE766d ago (Edited 766d ago )

Umm I cited facts. I always point to numbers because I've had to hear for years about how AAA games needed to be held back for the PS4's ancient CPU because they were going to sell better on PS4 for several years because of the "install base."

Actually, you prove my point about the hardcore people buying games on PS5. In fact, you help illustrate that the numbers on Horizon (even though they significantly favored PS5) were artificiallly skewed towards PS4 because of the $10 cheaper version and the free upgrade. You were actually buying the game to play on PS5 (this is my entire point), but you happened to buy that particular game on PS4 basically to take advantage of a weird situation that came about from a PR error. So thanks for providing that additional data in support of my argument.

Chevalier766d ago

Aren't there significantly more PS4 users though? Wouldn't you think PS4 sales to be higher than PS5 for that reason alone?

MoonConquistador766d ago

No, what you did was used some statistics and decided to look for generalisations about things that actually don't fit. I'm still trying to figure out why you would want to though.
The argument that had been made for years was that it WOULD hold back AAA game development if they were cross platform, not that they SHOULD be held back by cross platform development.
I bought Horizon on PS4 because the game has an end to it, and until some DLC comes out for it, I'm finished with it and want my nephew to be able to play it on his PS4 as I did with the first game. It had a free upgrade so it made sense.
GT7 on the other hand is a game with tremendous replayability and long legs. It should have had a free upgrade as all PlayStation games should. I'm still trying to finish GT Sport whilst they fix the current issues with GT7.
So I haven't actually proved any of your points, only challenged them and tried pointing out the dangers of generalisations and reading too much into things. You on the other hand are proving that you are indeed talking out your ass.

The only platform I've used since last Summer is Switch. Just finished Dying Light on it and it holds up nicely to the PS4 version. Just started Life is Strange: True Colors on it and today I'm picking up Gal*Gun: Double Peace for it. Several big ones coming out for it soon like Crystar, 13 Sentinels, Loopers, Love Esquire, Food Girls 2, OshiRabu, AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative, Omori and Lovekami Trilogy.

Having a blast trying to get the cars I want to have and customize.

Nicknasty766d ago

I was to, up until that latest joke of a patch. Cutting your prize money in half now from winning races? It’s bad enough there is no offline mode and you can’t sell any of your cars you own, now this. Complete greed! Other than that, I love the game. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

outsider1624766d ago

Yeah..for some reason it's ridiculous you can't sell cars. I don't want to keep duplicates and triplicates. Hopefully they add that feature and remove always online.
People crying payouts this payout that...trust me..the one thing we should cry about is the always online. If PD gives us 1mill for a race, it won't matter if the servers are down. You wont get to race let alone get the payout.

ScootaKuH765d ago (Edited 765d ago )

GT7 is quality but unless Polyphony change their approach to how single player works it might be the last GT I buy. Not being able to play single player when the servers go down is not on, tbh.

I don't like MT being in a full price game either but at least here it's not actually needed, but I'd rather not see it at all. The fact that the game cost £65 and then they expect you to spend even more real money to buy in game credits is shocking.

Change your ways Polyphony, or I won't be buying the next GT, and I suspect many others won't either.

Oh, and fix the ticket roulette, it's clearly rigged!

CS7765d ago

Imagine Genshin Impact has a more fair roulette than a $70 premium first party title.

Sony/PD is going mad.

Lowest Medacritic score by any Sony studio game EVER!

Silly gameAr765d ago

But, it seems to be doing well, so what's your point?

Love to see that Forbidden West is still in the top 10. People have been trying to sink that game, and act like it's a failure, and it's kind of disgusting.

@CS7

To be honest, I don't care what baffles you. I'm sorry I'm not on the same doom and gloom that you awesome, neutral gamers are on, but I'd rather not wake up everyday mad about something.

You're complaining about 70 dollar games, but I think these sub services and nft cash grabs that are popping up everywhere are an even greater threat. It baffles ME, that people support that, but I guess there's something that baffles everyone.
