Fairy Tail - Review — ASG

"Licensed games often don’t deliver. That’s been a constant truth for decades across numerous platforms, regardless of the budget or contribution by their respective creators. Matching the pacing and tone of a franchise in video game form is often difficult as the player will often dictate the speed of which the story unfolds, especially when that experience isn’t totally linear. Fairy Tail is an explosive and often humorous anime ripe for being translated to a video game, but this latest iteration just doesn’t capture the energy of its source material and the game suffers greatly for it." Yes more manga creator should be like this stop with Dw clones and arena fighter.

SDuck898d ago

That IP is dead. It died a long time ago. This guy wanting to pay for a game shows he's desperate to recandle the short success Fairy Tail had

Teflon02898d ago

No, it's that he's a gamer and has fully expressed his disappointment in Koei and Gusts game.

chadwarden898d ago

what did he say? Is there an article about it?

Teflon02898d ago

I follow him on Twitter. I can't remember the exact words. But generally when a big game releases he posts a picture of it like Final Fantasy XV. Then he gives his opinion. When it dropped or before it dropped to be specific. I remember I was looking forward to it since I play Gust games and watched all of Fairy Tail. Like a week before he got to play through and beat it the weekend before it dropped. He went from being excited to saying something along the lines of, it wasn't bad but he wasn't happy and even then went out of his way to let everyone know that the dlc disappointed him even more. Then complained about Koei's weird choices. But then said the game wasn't bad, but it wasnt what he expected it to be

Lessee... 63 volumes, an ongoing sequel that's already on volume 10. 328 anime episodes. Another manga that's already on volume 17 with an anime at its second cour...

I have a feeling you don't know what you're talking about.

Sonyslave3898d ago

I know right, dude dont know their a another fairytale manga about the dragon gods.

SDuck898d ago

Lessee... 72 volumes, an ongoing sequel that's already past volume 14. 720 anime episodes. Multiple spinoff mangas... And still, Naruto is now a dead IP. Interest on Fairy Tail is long gone

Teflon02898d ago

SDuck so ultimately you're saying something has to be dead because the series ended? Fairy Tail is back next year with the 1000 year arc. It's not hard to realize it will still have its fans. There's a reason it's one of FUNimations most popular series.

Also Naruto is done, and a spin off with his son exists and while nowhere near as popular, still has a decent following. It's not a dead series. Just Boruto isn't up to the main shows standards lol. Mind you I'm not a fan of the series either.

You don't have to forever actively be talking about something for it to be doing fine. Alot of shows go quiet when done. A few weeks after AoT finished, I stopped hearing about it. But it's not a dead series. It just ended lol

Abriael898d ago

@SDuck: It seems that in your vocabulary "I'm not interested in this" equates to "It's a dead IP."

I'm not even all that interested in Fairy Tail as pure shounen series aren't my thing and the art doesn't fit my taste, but even I know very well that it's still very popular, because my personal taste doesn't make me completely blind to all else.

Fairy tail is like a bag of chips sure it's not a substantial meal but it tastes good. I loved watching it as a guilty pleasure and it was fun watching the battles

Godmars290898d ago

Thought it just finished its run.

jznrpg898d ago

Not dead at all it just needs a good Dev to make a good game preferably rpg for me and it would be sell well . The previous games just weren’t very good , okish

Yui_Suzumiya898d ago

Actually they're going to start adapting a sequel series next year into a new anime series. I'm not a fan, I'm just forwarding the information.

Probably the only way that Joey (The Anime Man) would play something Fairy Tail related.

TheColbertinator898d ago

Koei Tecmo and Namco Bandai anime games are so predictable. A few good ideas then filling up the rest with filler like Ubisoft.

Teflon02898d ago

That's probably why Hiro has Eden's Zero testing out Konami. Pretty sure Namco would have loved to clone Fairy Tail into Ultimate Ninja Storm like One Piece and Demon slayers lol. I just want to see them try the RPG thing again but with a dev team that will actually try. I enjoyed the last game enough to beat and 100% on steam but it was not a great game. But I was happy it was finally something different
