Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Eidos Montreal is essentially a prettied up redo of Ion Storm Austin's Deus Ex, for better or worse.
Because its getting old and Montreal should develop a new one once they're done supporting Crystal Dynamics with Avengers.
This is why we really need to start putting Square Enix on the same level as EA and Activision. They forced stupid monetization into Mankind Divided and killed its sales and instead of learning from their mistake, they mothballed a great single player franchise and forced the Dev to make GAAS garbage.
One of the biggest blunders of the current gen for sure. "Augment your pre-order" lmao, what were they thinking?...
I was a solid game for its time though
Decent game, just Square f***ed it with augmented pre-orders and the in game cash shop etc. They used it as a testbed for milking gamers and it backfired, shame as they basically ignore the franchise as a whole now.
Mankind Divided is the one that had augment your pre-order not Human Revolution.
That was Mankind Divided.
Ahhh bollocks, my bad.
Extremely. Loved Mankind Divided and Human Revolution.
Yea and it's rare that such an old franchise comes back after so long and is still handled properly. I wish they would come back to it sooner than later, especially with that cliffhanger in Mankind Divided.
I loved this franchise. I look forward to seeing it on PS5
I enjoyed it, I did every side mission of the campaign. If it’s wasn’t for PS Plus I wouldn’t have given the game chance.
Once Cyberponk 2077 get released, Humam Revolution might forever be relegated to the shadows.
I played it on the Wii U, and it mightve been the one game that felt like it took the gamepad to its potential.
It had its flaws, but it was a gem
I actually felt like Human Revolution suffered from a lot that stopped it from being truly great. The forced boss fights that initially weren’t supposed to be in the game was one problem. The augmentations and battery life really killed any feeling of being truly upgrade/powerful. But it still had a pretty interesting story.
I actually liked the battery life part. It presented a novel solution to the problem with stealth mechanics in games. In Deus Ex you can be invisible for as many times as your battery allows and so stealth because a finite resource that you can factor into your strategy for a level. Its better than just crouch and crawl until you screw up.
Games with stealth and hacking never have been my thing , loved the setting characters but tried one or two missions and traded it.
That's the cool thing about Deus Ex though, is that every problem and mission can be approached from many different angles. You don't have to stealth if you don't want. You can set up your abilities to be able to shoot your way through everything. Brilliant game design.
Amazing game. Although, doesn't help that the definitive edition (with some major game changes) was on Wii U. Also, Mankind Divided was seriously underrated.
Because the game sucks, I don't like how it felt, played, the loading screen, this game is the worst game in my whole library of games. I rather play farm simulator than Deus Ex. I regret wasting money on this game. It was such a disappointment. I never been so bored playing any game in my life. This game was so boring that I couldn't even finish it. I uninstalled it.
I recently watched the show DEVS and it was clear it was heavily based off Human Revolution's asthetic.
