Seven Out Of Ten revisits Hypnospace Outlaw on consoles, deeming it a worthy port of a brilliant game:
"Hypnospace Outlaw was my favourite game of 2019, if not my favourite game of the past 5 years to be honest. Its depiction of a surreal alternate-reality 90’s internet is unlike any other virtual world I've ever explored, and various elements of it have stuck with me for the past 18 months. Its music. Its stories. Its overall aesthetic and tone. It’s wonderful.
So it should come as no surprise that when it was recently announced that the game would be coming to consoles – via a Nintendo Direct, no less – I was ecstatic. I genuinely believe that this game is one of the greatest ever made and I’m delighted that more people will have the opportunity to experience it now that it’s being released on other platforms.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend about a week with both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 editions of the game, and am here today to let you know my thoughts on both versions of Hypnospace Outlaw."
A new PUBG Mobile skin, Hypnospace Diva, is a blatant rip-off of Jay Tholen's 90s internet puzzle sim Hypnospace Outlaw, angering the developer
James writes: "Hypnospace Outlaw on Xbox One is so wonderfully put together, it’s hard to imagine anyone it wouldn’t make an impact on. If you have any interest in the early days of the internet, meta humour or just unique games, I strongly urge you to give this a go."
