NintendoLife: Animal Crossing: New Horizons' impressive sales total also means that the game has now sold more copies than every single game in the Metroid franchise combined.
lets not forget how much they're raking in on microtransactions for this game too
New Horizons doesn't have any microtransactions so I guess that would be a whole zero dollars
...Do you even know what you're talking about?
Does Animal Crossing New Horizons have in game purchases? Animal Crossing: New Horizons will contain some form of in-game purchases. That's according to the game's ESRB rating, which can be found on Nintendo's official website, but has yet to be formally published on the ESRB site. ... New Horizons will include in-game purchases, according to its ESRB rating.Feb 9, 2020 google search
So you can use Google. Good for you.
It doesn't. Source: actually played the game.
They have to put that if they want to include expansions later. You never played it weirdo
Could someone please show Phoenixwing the door? Not only are they dead wrong(as all the millions of people who've actually played this game know), but they're coming back with "facts" to try and tell everyone off. Lol! I don't care what you've read or where it was sourced from. To THIS DAY, you can NOT spend real money within New Horizons! Play the actual game before you go commenting on it.
You should have put an /s at the end.
Kind of sad to me
Why? AC New Horizons is a good game and deserves this accolades.
I believe Prime is the best selling Metroid game with 3 million + copies sold. However, it’s sequels didn’t do anywhere those numbers. The Metroid franchise has generally never been a consistently high selling franchise, it’s somewhat of niche series. However, it’s good Nintendo continues to support the franchise despite It’s generally low sales. Aside: Anyone else think their should be a Metroid collection released for switch ?
Yes to your question. I would like a collection of all of the 2d games like the Mega Man collections. Then an HD prime collection. And it's always been odd that Metroid didn't get more love.
Really really sad to see the state of the 2020 nintendo gamer. And I can say this as I was there day 1 when Nintendo launched in 1983 or whatever year. This is not the legacy I envisioned for you guys.
Is it "sad" that the Switch owner get Tokyo Mirage Session FE, Animal Crossing New Horizon, Xenoblade FE, Clubhouse Games, Paper Mario, and Pikmin 3 Deluxe in 2020? A year that the coronavirus had hit Nintendo hard I might add.
Half of the games you listed are Wii U ports. If you took away all the Wii U ports, the Switch library would be pretty pathetic. It's a damn disgrace that Nintendo is releasing Pikmin 3, a 7 year old port of a Wii U game and charging 60.00 for it! Same with Tokyo Mirage Sessions. By now Nintendo should have released at least 1 new sequel to each of those games. What the hell have they been doing for the last 7 years? I haven't touched my Switch since November when I bought Luigi's Mansion 3. I'm not interested in Baby's First Farm Sim or any of these other glorified 3DS games that Nintendo keeps trying to pass off as AAA bangers. But keep defending them. If you want to set your standards this low in order to keep toting water for this company go ahead. However people like Exvalos and myself have a higher expectation from Nintendo.
Agreed. What's even sadder is all these people defending Nintendo, as if Nintendo is doing EVERYTHING just perfect and should be above any and all criticism. Nintendo's gaming output on Switch is pathetic. Nothing but a bunch of Wii U ports and low-budget, low-ambitious baby games being sold at full AAA price. It's pathetic. What was the last true ambitious, large scale, big budget AAA banger that Nintendo produced? Luigi's Mansion 3 maybe? But even that I would argue is just another 3DS Dark Moon in higher resolution. I'd say you would have to go all the way back to either Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or Smash Bros Ultimate to find a native Switch title that was made with any kind of ambition. And even Smash Bros Ultimate isn't that far removed form what Smash was on Wii U. Same with Splatoon 2. Yes it's a sequel in name but come on! We all know it was more like Splatoon 1.5 with just a few added modes. It's the exact same graphics engine. Same with Smash Bros Ultimate.
Well deserved. Mario, Metroid and Zelda used to be my favourite Nintendo franchises, but in the last 5-10 years that’s changed to Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and Mario Kart.
Not trying to be a jerk but really don’t understand this one. Nothing seemed fun or addictive about this game. Stardew valley and other sim games i can understand even though I don’t like them but animal crossing just seems so boring. I seriously wonder if it’s just the Nintendo name that caused the hysteria
I'm with you. Animal Crossing to me represents that uber casual, cell phone Candy Crush/Angry Birds kind of game. It has never appealed to me the slightest.
Well escapism in today's time, good support for the franchise, and a large fanbase certainly helps. Congrats to Nook and company though, you debt maker master of puppets. That raccoon is the Paulie of the Nintendo world if you think about it. "Didn't find enough turnips? *^** you, pay me. Oh, your friend got your money tree? *^** you, pay me. That tarantula farm not work out, huh? *^** you, pay me."
Didnt the Metroid series die on the Wii? And since its only gotten like a couple of games on the DS one of which was some shite multi spinoff. Its sad cause Ninty hasnt shown much love to Metroid. Not very surprising its a much more serious toned games, and stands out within all the colourful FAM friendly image Ninty puts out
