IGN: Ninja Blade Blog: Creating the Story

FROM Software developed the story knowing from the start that they wanted it to have a simplicity to its battles like a Hollywood action film, with a sense of danger that was easy for the audience to grasp. It's a sense of impending doom, like "an asteroid is going to hit Earth, and we have to destroy it" or "a biological weapon is about to hit San Francisco, and we have to take out the missile carrying it before it does." They wanted to give the feeling that if you don't do something soon, you're going to be in a lot of trouble.

I think this is going to be the first game of 2009 to get a 5/10 in all reviews.

InMyOpinion6050d ago

Otogi 1 & 2 have 82% & 81% .avg scores at gamerankings.com, so if Ninja Blade is anything like those games it should be pretty good. It's nice to know that they have prior experiences of making that type of action game. I liked Otogi more than Ninja Gaiden so I hope they don't mess up.

Foxgod6050d ago

I finished ninja gaiden, i am glad i can play another ninja game in the nearby future.

I wonder if Team ninja will still ever create a new ninja gaiden now that mr sunglasses got kicked out.

Ninja Blade and Demons Soul look so average...I bet From Software will be the first developer to do such a lousy job that we will all get burned from those two games.May God have mercy upon our souls.

MiloGarret6050d ago

Honestly though, Ninja Blade looks a lot better than Demon's soul. I'm not saying it won't suck massively, it might very well do that. But demon's soul is pretty much guaranteed to be crap.

InMyOpinion6050d ago

I hope by that they don't mean giving every stage a time limit lol! Or killing much of the fun by putting a time limit on the whole campaign, like Dead Rising.

panasonic236050d ago

just because demon soul ps3 look average don't compare it ninja blade look awesome.

If they are working on story cause, from studio lacks in that department. While they have made good games in the past but some of the games are trash too. But still their previous Xbox works where good ones hope they do the sam with this.

Sekiro Is Not From Software’s Best Ninja Video Game

Ninja Blade is From Software’s best ninja game of all time, including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. At least it’s the best version of a specific type of ninja game.

Well aren't you cool? Taking a game that was pretty much universally acclaimed and then saying that one that received mediocre to bad reviews across the board is better... There's always one "hipster" out there with a contrarian opinion.

I don’t remember much of it but wasn’t it a QTE heavy game like Asura’s Wrath and GOW3?

NecrumOddBoy2261d ago (Edited 2261d ago )

It was like the Xbox Ninja Gaiden with an insane amount of QTEs. Not bad but not innovative.

SamPao2261d ago

Asura's Wrath and GOW3s QTE usage are planets apart though :D

Youngindy212261d ago

Both of those games were good so....

The Adventures of Cookie and Cream (Or Kuri Kuri Mix as is known in PAL territories) is actually a pretty good game, and gets damn hard in the latter stages.

I'd love to see FromSoft make King's Field 5, or maybe another Armoured Core. I love the Souls games, but I don't want to see it milked for all its worth.

Duke193353d ago

Didn't they also make the 3D Dot Game Heroes (or something like that).

I actually enjoyed that a lot on PS3

eyoung253353d ago

They actually only handled publishing in Japan. It was developed by Silicon Studio.

eyoung253353d ago

I wanted to keep the entries to their own respective genres. Chromehounds and Armored Core are both mecha. I almost included it though.

DarXyde3353d ago

I came here to learn something new and left disappointed.

DarXyde3353d ago

...I'm saying I knew FromSoft had a hand in all of these games. I would know, I own/ed most of them.

WhyWai883352d ago

Armored Core series producer left From Software.
My guess is the company shifted all focus to Souls series... :(
RIP Armored Core....

eyoung253352d ago

I would love to see them come out with a new IP in the mecha genre. Armored Core was cool, but I think they have expanded their skills to make a more unique game.
