Since January 2020, the price of retro games has been out of control, and Playstation 2 has been particularly hard hit. Let's unpack this pricing madness to figure out why (spoiler: it's COVID), and what collectors can do now.
Try to think of a PS2 game that changed gaming as we know it. GTA 3, Silent Hill 2, even things like SOCOM were way ahead of the curve, among countless others. But there are also plenty of PS2 games that shot for the moon and ended up lost in the ocean.
During a livestream on his personal Twitch channel, Rob Wiethoff (who voices John Marston in the Red Dead Redemption series) hinted at "exciting news" to be revealed next week. According to Wiethoff, the news will be announced "before Friday".
PS5/Pro/Switch 2 version of RDR2 seems most likely. I’d love a RDR3 but that seems years away
Their contracts are iron clas if they leak anything legit they are threatened with immense legal action.
My hopes for what this is are minimal its probably a meet and greet with the cast
I dont see why they would be involved in a upgraded version of rdr2 when the dialogue hasn't changed
The Drifter puts you in the boots of a man who dies before the opening credits roll, then gets a second chance to uncover why someone wanted him dead. With gritty pixel art and practical detective puzzles, it's less about inventory management and more about staying one step ahead of the people trying to kill you again
There was a time when a game was rare and actually worth something. Everyone knows I'm talking about Panzer Dragoon Saga, a legitimately rare game that only sold something like 40,000 and there's one guy that likes to rub in everyone's faces on YouTube that he got his for one cent a piece and has something like 9 copies, and people buy PDS. The problem is, people have seen this and suddenly want to try and top PDS by throwing out outrages prices for games, and it's pathetic. Once again though, SEGA sets the trend as always, but this is getting absurd. I did see a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 selling in a mall for $200, not worth it mind you because honestly, it's better on the console I play it on which is the Dreamcast.
Thank god for emulation and CFW.
Been hitting up my local retro spots for PS2 games this year. A few good gems here and there but they are rarely cheap.
I've been trying to find Rule of Rose for cheap but it is not happening.
Wonder what my copy of GTA: San Andreas is going for.
Yea it's never any of the games I own that rise in price lol guess I'm just a commoner with no taste for the rare and expensive
