Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gameplay Leaks Online

It seems actual Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay has now leaked online, and yes, this is the real deal! Details and more here.

mrsolidsteel201758d ago

Hmm....I have to see a better quality video.

excaliburps1758d ago

Doubt it. Ubisoft is taking it down fast...

VenomUK1758d ago (Edited 1758d ago )

Assassin’s Creed ‘leaks’ are never leaks, they are nearly always orchestrated by Ubisoft.

Marquinho1757d ago

Ugh... eagle again? What's with those wolves A.I.? 😐

Sunny_D1758d ago

If someone told me this was Assassin’s Creed from the PS3 era, I would have believed them. But then again, I need to see a better quality video.

Edito1757d ago

Thanks for sharing BeRich,

But i think ill skip another AC game... it looks like a current gen game and after seeing this I think that is why they didn't show any gameplay during Microsoft event.

morganfell1757d ago

I wonder if this was an intentional leak to gauge fan reaction? My reaction is not good...for two reasons.

AmUnRa1757d ago

The source video is the trailer, so no gameplay...and on YouTube....its gone.

RememberThe3571757d ago

AC Origins had a fantastic story. Odds are this story will be good too. But it does just look like the current gen games and I can't be impressed by that especially if they want to increase game prices. This isn't it.

mrsolidsteel201758d ago (Edited 1758d ago )

Good point.

I’m really surprised,Ubisoft was allowed to get away with this for so long.

Granted the story in AC is phenomenal, especially Origins.

mandingo1758d ago

Oh dude origins story was boring asf imo.

Daeloki1757d ago

@mrsolidsteel20 No... just no... AC stopped being phenomenal after AC2. I will admit that Black Flag was fun, but mostly because of sea battles. I've also heard good things about Odyssey, but they might as well stop calling it Assassins Creed and just start making fantasy rpg's loosely based on history and mythology.

RaidenBlack1757d ago

Why don't they fork out the RPG entries into a separate franchise? And release that every 2 years or whatever.

And in the meantime bring back the old AC and release it every 4 or 5 years when they deem it significant enough. Quality shall improve drastically.

xTonyMontana1757d ago

Yeah basically the first comment on the one I saw.. Odyssey with Vikings.. not impressed at all.

GoodGuy091757d ago

@mrsolidsteel20
Oof, origins was very boring lol. I couldn't bring myself to like it at all and just went ahead to odyssey

yoshatabi1757d ago

@mrsolidsteel assassin's Creed story was phenomenal? None of them were great with the exception of AC2

Christopher1757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

It actually looks worse than Odyssey. Odyssey had more combat elements and this showed only two and never even used dodge, just moving. About halfway through Odyssey, I was using mostly assassin chain abilities in combat not just whacking things with weapons over and over. And then there was the whole archery line of things as well.

I get people want more of the original concepts, but I do like the RPG gameplay as well. But, this Valhalla gameplay just looks bad. I can also see why Ubisoft moved away from the older concepts after doing the same thing over and over for 4 games and getting trashed on it for it.

MWH1757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

that's a recipe for SHIFT + DELETE

RaidenBlack1758d ago

Looks like they took Assassins Creed Origins and went all Witcher 3 with it.

FlavorLav011758d ago (Edited 1758d ago )

You can still tell a lot about that game despite the poor video quality though. HUDs, skill trees, outfit/weapon upgrades shown, on-rails horse paths, uninspired voice acted NPCs, unrealistic dashy combat mechanics....its all there Solid! Lol

seanpitt231757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

Them NPCs look stiff as a board with no life in them it’s hard to see after coming from playing the last of us 2 even though I hated that story everything else was top grade

lelo2play1757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

From the videos, Assassin's Creed Valhalla looks like more of the same.

Ubisoft could explore new avenues for Assassin's Creed franchise, like set it in Asia (Japan, China, etc) or even set it the future (something similar to Blade Runner). They basically use the same formula over and over again...

seanpitt231757d ago

Yeah it looks like a Ubisoft game... I will pass

LMosche1757d ago

Looks last gen compared to Horizon. Crysis remastered too. PC/Xbox is even more garbage than I thought.

starchild1757d ago

You're ridiculous. This is clearly a highly unfinished rough build and it's probably the current gen version. Let's wait to see the final game running on the PC and next gen consoles before spouting off.

Crazyglues1757d ago

This game is trash... hard pass....

masterfox1758d ago

not sure why I was expecting something more surprising and appealing , this is just more of the same.

RaidenBlack1758d ago

Yea, the menu's creed.
Was longing for an OG Assassins Creed Revival .... guess have to wait a bit more till Ubisoft ditches its Carbon Copier and try 're'-innovating.

ps3rider1757d ago

I think the will reveal the gameplay in the JUL event for Xbox. but again it sucks

DJStotty1756d ago

That event is for 1st party, AC Valhalla was shown at the 3rd party event already.

The next time you will see this is at Ubisofts stream (if they are doing one)

ps3rider1756d ago

DJStotty

I have doubt Microsoft will have 1st party exclusive event

ABizzel11757d ago

They wanted Native 4K they got it. 4K requires at least 4X the GPU power of 1080p system, and it takes 3x the GPU power to double fps. That means we would need a 14 TF GPU to guarantee 4K @ 60fps in every game with slightly above current-gen graphics. Slightly above graphics would consist of global illumination or low - mid level ray tracing, high - ultra quality shadows, more environmental detail (foliage, better clouds, better ground maps, textures), and better particle effects. These are all things that we would notice, but moving from medium to Ultra isn't a next-gen jump.

This is why I keep telling everyone stop worrying about Native 4K and be okay with checkboard rending, dynamic resolution, and Resolution scaling because Native 4K is a waste of GPU power when resolutions over 1440p offer enough clarity that most of you would never know is no Native 4K unless someone told you, however higher FPS and better visuals are clearly noticeable.

tontontam01757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

A typical console gamer will not understand what you are trying to say.

Just wait these people will see that a game targeting native 4k60 will just look like a last gen game @4k60.

wwinterj1757d ago

I never understood "it's more of the same" when it comes to sequels. Isn't that the point of sequels? They have added new story, new gameplay, new settings and well new everything but it's still going to be a Assassins Creed game as that's what it is.

seanpitt231757d ago

New gameplay haha that’s the same cut and paste job from origins and odyssey I mean look at them physics so average no wonder Ubisoft are taking down videos so quick

seanpitt231757d ago

That CGI first trailer made you feel like this, it did me making you think this could be the year for innovation with the new next gen consoles in reality it’s the same old rinse and repeat average game from Ubisoft we have seen a thousand times before. Literally just looked like origins and Oydessy with a different Vikings theme.

Cyb3r1758d ago

What platform is this running on?

anonymousfan1758d ago

Youtube (just kidding). Damn it's so blurry I hope we'll PS5 footage next Sunday at the Uplay event.

sho0ok3601757d ago

Don't think so, read somewhere that it was running on a PC with 1080p.

Loktai1757d ago

Def some kind of XBOX since it is showing XBOX trigger nomenclature on the interface. At least we can say its not a playstation but beyond that... I can only HOPE its running on something current gen, its the only thing that would explain it but it doesnt explain the crappy cartoony gameplay

RememberThe3571757d ago

Probably PC with an Xbox controller

Twonky8881757d ago

Ps4. It said on a Facebook video in Portuguese.

SeanScythe1757d ago

I has a prompt to press Y it's clearly xbox.

seanpitt231757d ago

They said XBSX but the quality is so bad it doesn’t matter what platform it was running on

chicken_in_the_corn1758d ago

Was expecting something different. This is just more of the same. Still excited though

InMyOpinion1757d ago

I was expecting a re-skin of Odyssey, which in turn is a re-skin of Origins. Right on the money, the same money I won't be giving to Ubisoft.

-Foxtrot1758d ago (Edited 1758d ago )

If you are disappointed it looks the same or boring then maybe you’ll realise Origins and Odyssey weren’t that good. They just finally changed the game up and we all thought because it was fresh it meant it was good.

The series isn’t the same anymore, it’s a quickly put together new IP

mrsolidsteel201758d ago

Well I thought Origin was pretty good, but that’s just my opinion.

Damn you really are a negative person.

ThereGoThatManQ1758d ago

He’s actually right. They stole a lot of their formula from other games and then copy and pasted it the last 6 years in every game

FlavorLav011758d ago

Origins is a great game held back only by being forced to be an “Assassin Creed” game. In my opinion it would have faired better with its own identity, own title, own story. Like an open-world Ryse: Son of Rome. Tying all these continuous games into such a convoluted narrative for the sake of continuing a series, misses the opportunity to tell new and more meaningful organic stories. Can’t remember actually caring about any of the protagonists or NPCs in any AC game. But the parkour sure is fun lol

-Foxtrot1757d ago

“ Damn you really are a negative person”

Oh here we go, attacks on the user because you don’t like what they are saying

It might be negative and I’m bursting this happy as ever bubble but I’m a realist, doesn’t mean I’m not being truthful.

I’d understand if the gaming industry was sunshine and rainbows but it’s not.

InMyOpinion1757d ago

Origins was good. It had a crap story (as is standard for Ubisoft games) but nice graphics and good gameplay.
Odyssey on the other hand is a step down in all areas from Origins. It even looks worse.

Greg28011757d ago

The only reason Origins was "Good" is because everything after Black Flag was bad. In my opinion of course.

boing11757d ago (Edited 1757d ago )

I find Origins to be much better than Oddysey. It was way more focused. Oddysey was all over the place and it got boring.

RememberThe3571757d ago

Same, I just couldn't care about any of the characters in Odyssey. And the combat changes they've made to the series just wore out after Origins.

wwinterj1757d ago

Origins was great and Odyssey was fun enough. This looks more of the same and that's exactly what I expect with a Assassins Creed title. It's still at the heart the same as the first Assassins Creed only better when it comes to gameplay. It certainly doesn't feel like a new I.P.

bondsmx1757d ago

Personally, I enjoyed origins and odyssey.
Would liked to have seen a little bit more of a gameplay freshen up.

But I’ll buy it. A solid launch title.

chronoforce1757d ago

All assasins creed games follow pretty much the same formula. You gather some intel about your target then you kill your target until you get to the head honcho.

There has arguably never really been much tact to how you can kill your targets and lots of the social stealth elements in prior games ended up being poorly utilised or not expanded upon at all.

At least these new titles function very well as open world action adventure games. Perhaps having nailed that aspect of the game they can revisit the social stealth elements and use them in more interesting ways.

uncharted561757d ago

Didnt people enjoy both those games? Either way judging a game based of a leaked low quality video seems like jumping the gun when we don't really know what the game actually builds upon compared to last 2 entries.

Christopher1757d ago

***If you are disappointed it looks the same or boring then maybe you’ll realise Origins and Odyssey weren’t that good.***

Odyssey was great. Just not what you wanted. I had way more fun in that than I ever did in RDR2.

People seem to be really resistant to change right after they spend 4 games complaining about things not being different enough.

Assassin’s Creeds' Cutscenes And Voicelines Have Digressed Over Time

Assassin’s Creed has always been a staple for good cutscenes that engage the audience. However, it's grown lacking of the latter now.

Chocoburger278d ago

The story was at its most interesting early in the series, but has eventually ended up spinning its wheels going nowhere. The games don't feel linked together anymore. This is to make it easier to constantly churn out endless sequels.

gold_drake276d ago

absolutely agree.

it was so interesting and then ..

montebristo276d ago

The smaller more intimate maps and historic references are lost. The setting used to be a character in AC. Now it’s just a massive empty shell of its former self.

180°

Almost every Assassin's Creed game is $12 or less — get them cheap

There's never been a better time to get into Assassin's Creed thanks to these deals.

Im so behind on AC. I gotta start up Brotherhood 😄

anast285d ago

I got Odyssey and Mirage to play still.

CobraKai285d ago (Edited 285d ago )

Ha. At least youre in the more current side of AC.

The_Hooligan284d ago

Last one i played was origin. I am also behind on AC games.

anast284d ago

@Cobra

The older ones are kind of a chore. I did enjoy Syndicate and Unity, though.

@Hoologan

I had a good time with Origins for the most part.

anast285d ago (Edited 285d ago )

If they are all Gold versions, it's definitely worth it.

Chocoburger285d ago (Edited 285d ago )

Waste of money, after the Desmond story arch, but even worse is that its a waste of time. The franchise is just spinning its wheels going nowhere. The further you progress through the series, the more 'corporate' it begins to feel, until its nothing but an empty husk, begging for you to spend money on its micro-trash-action store. There are loading screens in Origins informing you that if you spend money on "fun costumes" you'll feel better! Despicable.

Save your time for something better. Modern day Ubisoft is garbage.

MeatyUrologist284d ago

To each their own I guess? I really enjoyed them up until odyssey and valhalla was decent. I still really enjoy exploring the massive detailed worlds and the characters, stories, gear, and combat.

I have never once been swayed by a loading screen trying to get me to buy DLC as these games have 10x more content than you would ever see anyway. I do agree the series seems to be going the wrong direction at the moment, but would still highly recommend origins, odyssey, and to a lesser extent, valhalla if you enjoy adventure and exploration games.

gold_drake284d ago

not every AC game is worth playing tho ha.

i feel like it stopped being good after 3. and 3 was even a stretch.

1 and 2 tho? amazing.

Modern Games Are Getting Too Long

While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.

Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.

IAMRealHooman396d ago

100% agree
All these ubisoft titles, Farcry, AC, Ghost recon, boast huge maps, but with the same, 3 missions or the same base to clear 100s of times. Hour 1 of any of those titles is the same as hour 100, there big for the sake of being big, with the illusion of player freedom, where we really want depth and player expression.

Ninver395d ago

Give me a solid 15-20 hour engaging single player driven IP any day. Life's too short you dig.

isarai396d ago

I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.

Abnor_Mal396d ago (Edited 396d ago )

Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.

H9396d ago

Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter

Inverno396d ago

It's been a problem with pretty much every modern AAA game all through last gen and this gen. God forbid you point it out tho because all these big games are masterpieces and people lose their minds if you criticize them. Death Stranding is a fetch quest fest, but people will die defending it cause it's a "masterpiece".
