Assetto Corsa Competizione Runs At 1800p On PS4 Pro, Native 4K On Xbox One X

Italian developer Kunos Simulazioni released Assetto Corsa Competizion on PC last year after a roughly year-long early access period, and in the time that has passed since then, they’ve kept on adding content and improvements to the racing sim. Right now, it’s sitting in a solid position, and has fostered a strong community, and soon that community will be growing even larger, with the game releasing for consoles today, on June 23.

Can't say I like that at all.

Imagine being a racing sim in 2020 and not making frame rate the priority.

SierraGuy1766d ago

Lmao... Daytona USA was 60 fps.

4Sh0w1766d ago

Yeah its 30fps on both, I've heard they would have to ho with a lower res on both to do 60fps. So yeah that would've been the better choice for a racer but looking at it frankly I dont see why they couldn't achieve both.

Minute Man 7211766d ago

@ Noble

30 fps on current gen consoles is the standard. Now if this was PS5 or XsX

Imortus_san1766d ago

This as been the norm since the One X arrive and will continue to be the norm next gen.

DarXyde1766d ago

You think a 10.28TF machine that is very easy to develop for with consistent bandwidth and a blazing fast SSD that greatly frees up resources won't be able to accomplish far more than the half-hearted 4TF upgrade made to appease people in terms of closing the performance gap?

You are a fool, and you genuinely don't understand specs or even the implications of the hardware.

What Sony can do with 10.28TF is going to surprise the hell out of you. I'm not even saying PS5 will outperform Series X... but it will in some circumstances.

Hear me now, quote me later.

"Hear me now, quote me later."

The new Marvel Adventures game has been confirmed to run dynamic 4k, 60fps on PS5. Yeah, dynamic, not native 4k, 60fps.

FyBy1766d ago

It depends. PS5 can run PS4 games much faster, I think even games, that run on Pro in 4K30 should be playable on PS5 in 4K120 - because architecture of GPU is faster per TF. But new games will have more details, better LOD, higher draw distance, so maybe we will see more games with dynamic 4K on PS5. But from my point of view, if you are not pixel peeper, you cant recognize difference, especially not in motion. So it doesnt bother me in any way.

ocelot071766d ago

Read it again @CaptainCook.

One mode is going to be for graphics so most likely native 4K 30FPS and one for dynamic 4K target of 60.

Chris121766d ago

@DSarxyde, all I can hear is someone that has fallen for the PR. Nothing seen to date meets that expectation. Lets wait until MS's 1st party conference and the DF comparisons after launch, then we can see whether this this monster sized, under powered console can actually deliver.

arminukxbox1766d ago (Edited 1766d ago )

If you really think SSD going to do anything with resolution or graphics you are in denial

Kribwalker1766d ago

lol @darkxyde

Prepare to be disappointed, as resolution differences will be the norm next gen just like they have been this gen when first the ps4 was more powerful then when the onex was.

ocelot071766d ago

@Kribwalker

Not once did the user mention about resolution differences or anything they even said the PS5 won't outperform the series X other than a few circumstances.

The user most likely wont be disappointed in the PS5 like you seem to suggest. As will most of the people that buy it. Sony will most likely have another 100+ million console sales there hands with many happy and very impressed customers.

Just like with the Pro and X. Resolution don't matter for most people. That's why the PS4 outsold the Xbox One pretty much every month for the last 7 years as well as since the x was released.

DarXyde1766d ago

Sure. We'll see.

Indeed we will. Early generation titles where priority is not given to the new hardware on the Marvel game... but ok.

"all I can hear is someone that has fallen for the PR. Nothing seen to date meets that expectation. "

Meanwhile we're still waiting for a showcase for gameplay from Microsoft. You're not going to tell me that Horizon Forbidden West doesn't look outstanding.

It's not about "falling for the PR". "Falling for the PR" is hearing "12TF" and, because you can do basic math, recognize the maximum theoretical* output is higher (and at that many TF, a less-than-2TF advantage is unlikely to manifest in any significant ways).

I'm not saying Series X won't look better or perform better in most cases. I'm saying you're not going to see the disparities you've seen this generation.

And if you think PS5 is underpowered, you're not very bright.

ABizzel11766d ago

The Series X is more powerful than the PS5 GPU wise, and has a slightly higher CPU clock (which can offer a minor performance boost).

However, as I've been saying for the longest now, the difference will be resolution based at most, where some Series X games are Native 4K, whereas the PS5 verisons of some games will target Dynamic 4K, Use 4K with resolution scaling, or use Checkerboard rending.

The thing is while they are less than 4K, 99.9% of the people on n4g will be able to tell the difference. A Resolution war with Resolution this high is ignorant, because unlike 720p vs 1080p or even 900p vs 1080p where there is a visible difference in quality, any of those techniques offer image quality that would not be noticed by the human eye in 99.9% of n4g gamers. Simply put just continue to enjoy all the great games that come out.

Hakuoro1766d ago

What you xbox fans say doesn't even make sense. You think 10.28 tf isn't going be be enough for 4k then talk about a game that literally says there are two modes to make your argument? And that's without even knowing what the game runs at on xbox. For all you know xbox only has one mode that's 30fps.

Minute Man 7211766d ago (Edited 1766d ago )

@ Hakuoro

We have CodeMasters praising the Series X for hitting 120 fps no problems( not all games will be) and no comment on PS5 running @ 120fps. Those extra TFs that won't make any difference at play.....

badz1491766d ago

I really don't know what is this resolution difference that you delusional fools are are talking about regarding the PS5 and the SX. based on what has been achieved with the xbone x, both will have no problem outputting native 4K most of the time for all games. the SX are not gonna suddenly offer 5K and above to create this so call "resolution difference" to the PS5 LOL. both will be native 4K machines.

I see you guys are still butthurt from the 1080p vs 900p earlier this gen, ha?

Imortus_san1766d ago (Edited 1766d ago )

@DarXyde
You actually think that the PS5 is more easy to develop then then Xbox, LMAO.

PS5 is not 10TF it is 9TF, 10TF is in overclock mode, as stated by Cerny him self, XBox Series X is 12+TF, the gap will always be there.

SSD does not increace FPS and we already saw this by Sony PS5 show with 30fps games.

You will see more disparities this gen then last gen, Xbox Series is not only more powerfull but it as a lot more tech supporting it.

Hear me now, quote me later.

Not really.. dynamic 4k has been the norm for both while the x would see performance issues when they try to focus on full 4k...
But sure.. the x has consistently had more pixels.. just like the PS4 has over the Xbox one and Xbox one s... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Father__Merrin1766d ago

Games look better than this and run 60fps I'd never buy it anyway

This means they will likely be more open-ended decisions; speed runners may be in for a treat.

Christopher12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

I'll believe it when I see it. I also don't feel Bethesda games are stat intensive as it is, though. It seems pretty basic.

jznrpg9h ago

Bleh I want more stats not less. So lame going for casuals

isarai8h ago

Aren't RPGs SUPPOSED to be stat heavy? So are they leaning even more away from being an RPG? Ugh ☹️

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro1d 8h ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
