Arjun: "It will be very interesting to see how games on PS5 will evolve in the next few years, especially given how amazing these early games are already looking."
The only thing interesting about Athia is that it's made by Square Enix. I want to be excited for it but there's just not much to go on. Miles and Horizon will definitely be great.
Project Athia was interesting because when she was jumping, all of the worlds assets lost no detail and there were no hiding the assets like using motion blur 0 pop ins or texture loss Everything was already there. As I examined the trailer. The mountains in the background are most likely explorable as well. Full terrain exploration instantly at your finger tips. It's up to the devs to fill up these worlds with interesting enemies, fully scalable environment. With highest being mountains and lowest being caves or possibly volcano's. I'll definitely keep my eye on it.
Athia was the most interesting promo to me, but it’s probably pretty far out.
U know this dude 😎👌
Add Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and Kena: Bridge of Spirits to that list.
I’m glad you mentioned those 2 games. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart looked incredible, visually, with the particles effects, colors and lighting, all amazing. And the power of the PS5 and thanks to the SSDs allows the rifts to happen instantaneously, which was so thrilling to see. But kena: Bridge of Spirits was one of the most interesting and exciting games to me. It looked really spectacular and magically fun. I just can’t help but smile when I see that video from time to time. I’m super anxious to see more of this game and what it’ll offer to players in terms of story & gameplay.
Ratchet and Clank is the real show off of the SSD and I/O of the system. Teleporting between worlds and all the assets and textures loaded it insanely fast. The level of detail on the creatures and characters when you pause the trailer / zoom in on the pictures taken from it. If that's what the start of the gen looks like, can't wait to see what will be coming out in the next few years. Another one that looks interesting will be Little Devil Inside.
I watched the ratchet and clank trailer in 4k and O. M. G! Amazing!
Dugsnax didn't look like much but looks fun if twisted
Can’t wait until my book is made into a ps5 exclusive
and ratchet & clank ;)
I was so damn impressed by how great it looked, definitely going to be a must have for the console
The reveal trailers were great. I need to see 5-10 min gameplay videos to know what the true power is for these consoles
uh demons souls remake?
I cant wait to see the games for when they release! I cant wait for when they will design or upgrade game engines! To me we could see better resolutions better textures futher down the line
And yet none of them can hit 60FPS...
You don't know that. You're lying.
Work in progress my dude! Do you understand the meaning?
Who needs 60fps with a decent Samsung TV!? 😕
Just going to go ahead and mark you as spam
Technically pretty much every game can hit 60 FPS if the dev really wanted it to, but when your showing what a machine can do when it comes to graphical fidelity, then for single player 30 FPS will be the target. If you think the series X will be a 4K 60fps machine for all games then your in for a surprise.
You don’t even know if they may have a performance mode or not but you keep spouting nonsense.
At what point does it go from trolling to spam?
actually RC rift jumping showed the power better than anything else.
The rifts, particle effects, lighting, animations, fur on Ratchet, look of Clank, and the colors and detail of the worlds. It really all did look incredible visually.
Yeah, the whole thing was on another level. Sony has moved gaming forward.
I was watching the gamingbolt video of it, with some other games included, and one thing I hadn't picked up on was the rather high draw distance of the R&C game play. R&C, for all it's cartoony looks, is actually quite detailed with lots of assets and high quality textures and ranks up there with a lot of AAA games in terms of demands on the system. But, the actual game had a draw distance without obfuscating it with something like fog or mountains as far as the horizon. That's not something that's easy to achieve with as much detail as they had in the LOD's at longer distances, and while it's harder to express in words for something tangible for the user, that is also a function of the SSD speed, as if I had to guess, a lot of assets are also loaded or unloaded as needed within the level as well, freeing up a significant part of memory for the frame buffer to use higher quality assets for such things.
Certainly do, put Returnal on the list also, that game looks fantastic.
And only one of them will be at launch And that one is a expansion and should have been on PS4 but Sony doesn’t have anything else for 2020. Ps5 was for all intents and purposes suppose to launch in 2021 but they know that they can’t give MS a head start again like they did w the 360.
Why don’t you make some more crap up as you go along. There were pretty much no release dates for any of them. Why do you think Sony are worried about MS? MS keep shooting themselves in the foot without any help, Sony have the hype, but most importantly gamers feel confident Sony will support the console for years to come, Microsoft are still trying to convince even their own user base the same thing for their own hardware. Plus, you can’t just magically bring a console release forward 6 months, these timelines are set out years ahead. They are both releasing this year because this is when the new AMD graphics cards would be ready and usher in newer tech, more bang for your buck. If anything it’s MS who are keen to make sure they are out first but to be honest they would need more than a 6 month headstart.
If Sony was planning on 2021, why do most reports put MS as the one's being behind on getting their console to market in terms of getting devs what they need to actually develop the console? Sony's been first with every step when it comes to every aspect of talking about what matters to say they're ready for a new console, and they were months ahead of MS in getting dev kits out there. Not just the PC based ones they usually initially send to engine makers, but the actual fullly manufactured finalized dev kit they send to every licensed developer. "but Sony doesn’t have anything else for 2020" Huh? Sony has an amazing year of games, and still haven't released two major games to release.
I would also add GT7, DS and RaC
I'd argue that the one game that showcases the consoles potential was ratchet and Clank streaming in massive assets instantly was from a technical perspective extremely unique and represented a generational leap. It doesn't help that other games may not need these features however if horizon forbidden west manages to reintroduce it's flight mechanism that was scrapped from hzd due to insufficient io capabilities then it will be another game changer
You missed ratchet. Out of all the games that showed the capabilities of the SSD in the most and so far this year it's been the best showcase I've seen for the SSD benefits
They all look interesting and there is definitely gameplay shown but it’d be nice to see a solid 10-15 minutes gameplay of each.
Sony already trying to make you pay for a spider man remake with MM. Enjoy the 4 hour side mission tech demo. everything else is 2021 or further out. Why show a game 3-5 years out, what’s the point besides make the sheep add another “game” to their list. I want to see what I can play in the next 6-12 months at a event not what’s gonna be coming “soon” to PS7
"Sony already trying to make you pay for a spider man remake with MM." Except it's not a remake. At worst, you can say it's a DLC pack, the content of which is unknown. "Enjoy the 4 hour side mission tech demo." Will do. Playroom was a lot of fun on the PS4, I expect the new version of it will be too. "everything else is 2021 or further out." OK....and? Console is likely to release in November. 2021 isn't that far after that. "Why show a game 3-5 years out, what’s the point besides make the sheep add another “game” to their list." I dunno. But seems par for the course, and was never a problem in the past until MS found a way to make it an issue because some people used it as a negative against Sony early in the gen, so Spencer capitalized on that, but then ended up showing games that were 2-3 years out as well. In the end, no one cares, and 2-3 years out is pretty typical for marketing a game. "I want to see what I can play in the next 6-12 months at a event not what’s gonna be coming “soon” to PS7" That's cool. I can say the same for the 6-12 month part. But we're talking about buying a $400-600 console, so I kind of want to see that these console makers have a plan for the long term. MS blew their load early this gen, and that resulted in nothing after the first couple years. Dropping a lot of money on spec isn't something I tend to do, although I do have faith in Sony to deliver in the end.
They did a complete restructuring of personnel after the Xbox one launch. In my eyes you really have to start the One gen a year before the One X was released, and Phil had time to implement his ideas for Xbox going forward. They now have 17 developers and I’m sure more on the way, there’s plenty of Ammo in the gun at Xbox. I’m just saying how can I get excited for a ps5 launch when 90% of what was shown was for 2021 or later, and for everyone one saying a November launch is close to 2021, but those games didn’t have January 2021 in the trailers it’s probably November 2021 for those games. I’ll get a 5 at some point but it’s definitely not at launch for me. Especially with them not showing a next gen SOCOM. if they had a SOCOM ready to go at launch or soon ish after id buy a ps5 at launch
"They did a complete restructuring of personnel after the Xbox one launch." So? I haven't really noticed much change to the PS console line because of that. The people that they replaced the ones that left were all there and part of PS4, just with different jobs. Ryan does seem to be opening up the brand a bit, and I think he may be more into the services stuff, but as of now, that doesn't seem to be affecting PS at all. "In my eyes you really have to start the One gen a year before the One X was released, and Phil had time to implement his ideas for Xbox going forward." Yeah yeah yeah. Just wait for it. I've heard it all before. I'll say what I said four years ago. I don't care what they say they're going to do, I want to see what they will deliver. Until then, it's all meaningless, as MS has proven about the only thing they're consistent on delivering is disappointment. Phil had plenty of time to make something of this gen. He didn't. He doesn't get brownie points for a ruined gen, when he was supposed to be the one that saved it for MS. His saving of this gen is all about next gen, and services. Hardly something to celebrate. If they do better in the future, then great, I'll not have a problem with them. But I'm not going to take Spencer or MS on faith. "I’m just saying how can I get excited for a ps5 launch when 90% of what was shown was for 2021 or later" because Sony has a track record for four generations now that says they'll deliver, and they get better every gen. This gen, Sony had some of the best games available. As a publisher, they outpaced every other publisher in terms of number of quality titles delivered. That is more impressive to me than anything MS has done this gen, or what they may do next gen, because MS hasn't even proven they can deliver on all this stuff they are buying now. "I’ll get a 5 at some point but it’s definitely not at launch for me." That's your perogative. Won't affect me one bit. But, your comment seems more about making Sony look bad, than why you aren't personally getting the system. If 2021 games are too far out for you, I assume you aren't getting any system until after that. "Especially with them not showing a next gen SOCOM. if they had a SOCOM ready to go at launch or soon ish after id buy a ps5 at launch" It'd be impossible to please everyone. I personally was fine with R&C and Spider-Man. I may change my mind on Spider-man in terms of the value it may offer when more info is known, but I'm not going to dismiss it and inappropriately call it a remake like you did based on nothing more than assumption or bias.
