This Could Be Our First Look at a New Robotic Dinosaur In Horizon Zero Dawn Sequel

Horizon Zero Dawn series is getting a comic book set after the events of the first game which might have revealed a new robotic dinosaur.

i finished and a bit liked Horizon ...but man robotic dinosaur concept cant stand as logic( the whole core idea of horizon was bothering me all the time and thats why i cant consider it masterpiece) ....why a robotic creature to have feather like formation ??? why to have claws or teeth ?? dont just repeat Horizon s plot , i fign know it , it just cant stand on its legs no matter which side you see it

why not? The game gives a great explanation for robot Dinos./ Animals, meaning the computers (Gaia, Hephaesthus, etc.) decided that the best possible desing for the robots "recreating earth" would be based on the desing of animals, meaning they decided that the fruits of millions of years natural selection created the ideal desing. ( this makes alot of sense, and reflects reality cause many designers/engineers try to replicate caracteristics of animal, in flying, walk, climbing, vision, etc.)

About the "weapons" on the "Dinobots", you need to rebember "Hades" rebeled against Gaia and Hephaestus started to include military characteristics in the animals, shit started to go south and robots started to be constructed whit both "military" and "terraforming" characteristics.

It's a pretty typical man vs machine story. Theres a company making machines they venture into combat machines that can replicate themselves and takeover a host machine. A glitch makes them turn on humans destroying everything they try to come up with a plan to stop it but the only plan to ensure life remains was dun dun dun ZERO DAWN. Bet you didn't see that coming. But the program basically gets rid of the bad robots and starts over to terraform the earth a d rid it of bad toxins. And should t not work o f the AIs (hades) of zero dawn has the ability to terraform the earth and start over.

So again please explain how a run of the mill man vs machine atory isn't logical? We've seen it so many times because. . . . It makes sense. . .

Someone answered your reason for having robotic dinosaurs, but to put it more plainly.

The seeders(dinosaurs) form was a decision of Gaia, the main AI tasked with recreating the Earth after man kind was forced into shelter, and all but died out. Their form was chosen because it made sense from an evolutionary stand point to Gaia. That AI logic wasn't explained in full that I can recall, but it was the reason they looked like dinosaurs.

As far as them having weapons, it's because the evil AI was fighting against Gaia, because it felt that humans should not exist.. This meant that Gaia also had to create defensive measures to protect humans, and even the environment itself. Some dinosaurs also didn't have weapons, but tools used to do their job, which could also be used as weapons, which they'd use if they felt threatened, or thought something was interfering with their work.

It's not a hard concept to get, and was explained in the main narrative so you didn't even have to get the supplimental stuff which explained it further. So, given this, are you really sure you understand the plot of H:ZD?

...RE series were successfull for that exact reason , it immerses yo into the world by having a lot of realistic content ( virus spread , monsters by mutated dna , special forces etc) ...the exact oppsite happens in horizon ....if some super interilligent rampant AI (as far as here i can accept it) would gone rogue and created thing to exploit earth biomass wouldnt create teeths and claws and fur ...would just creat bulldozers , tanks (or smthing mechanically similar) with drills, saws and nets to dig and capture biomass ....having childish (transormers like) robo-dino that hunt like biologial organisms ..doesnt fit at all ... why a mchine to have fins while could create jet machine , why have fur while could create solar panels ...Robo dinosuars are ridiculous just for childs

Possible spoilers? That spoils everything bro. Since we're already at it... There's nothing typical about this story. I can't recall one story where the antagonists win and the only ray of hope is the chance that life can start again via a terraforming/life incubating/machine building/library of alexander-esque AI. That's the ultimate pyrrhic victory. It's so fucking dark and depressing which is insane because the game itself isn't. And what's amazing is that humanity actually prevailed. All hope was lost but humanity got their shit together fast and got this done. All of human existence was like the development of the original Assassin's Creed and the Faro Plague is the last 5 days of crunch to fill the game with stupid sidequests. It's truly a story of human ingenuity and what's possible when we put our heads together.

It's explained in game why the robodinos look like robodinos. It's cause Gaia was programmed to care for life and she naturally gained an appreciation for the many different forms of life that have been on earth. This is a way cooler explanation for robodinos than I could have ever dreamt of and they fully fleshed out every living detail of the backstory to make it all work. So idk WTF naruga's talking about with it not making sense. We have a literal life creating, land terraforming AI god on earth that's making all of this possible. When the backwards Nora pray to the goddess of the mountain, they're mostly correct.

I originally started HZD and after few hours just couldn't play because i felt it wasn't great. This year i went back to it gave it a chance and ever since fishing the main game, DLC and most of the side quests i loved it. I couldn't believe ow i felt about it when i first played it till now

the gameplay is amazing, taking down the machines is amazing but story could be better. HZD2 can't be the same type story because of what the whole purpose of the first game was. This story is done and finished they can either do prequel or they can move to a sequel directly following the events of HZD

i started days gone and didn't like it after finishing HZD tried days gone again and still didn't connect

not every game is for everyone but i am excited to see what they do with HZD2 and i hope they don't add a use co-op feature that will take away from story and gameplay. On base ps4 the game looked amazing i can't wait to see how it looks on ps5 and especially those loading times man they were so long. Usually when a studio makes a new IP the first game is a stepping stone but for GG to go from FPS to open world game like horizon was nothing short of stunning

OK time to clarify.
The logic was because the ai gaia liked mega fuana ie dinosaurs it even states in tests that's what she leaned towards.
Zero dawn was the code name for the project that effectively went live on zero dawn day. The point when humans were gone. Thus the sun rose on zero humans. Zero dawn.
Gaia and her twelve sub systems were responsible for first decryption of the bad robot control codes
2nd to build and repair the destroyed eco systems of earth from scratch.
3rd to shelter and shepherd humanitys return
4th aliens wouldn't have worked. It would end up being lame.

So you have a Dino loving ai rebuilding the world on her own with no human intervention
That is perfect logic for robot dinos

H:ZD could've had the best damn plot for a video game ever as well as the best gameplay but it wouldn't matter to the fucking weeb because it's made by a non japanese developer.

@ rainslacker I thought the reason they started having weapons was because the signal from unknown origin forced GAIA to destroy herself preventing HADES from resurrecting the Faro plague but it also prevented her from overseeing and managing all of the subroutines. This allowed HEPHAESTUS to start crafting and building more extreme bots and with more powerful weaponry because people had been hunting them so much for parts (preventing them from doing their job).

Meanwhile, HADES went on the rampage trying to fulfill its purpose of resetting the terraforming project at any cost.

That's how I remember it but it's been a while.

Could be onto something there, yes we had battles alongside other npcs as stated below but I think we may have larger sections in this one which maybe simlar to gow where maybe you can press actions or instructions to the other co/op npc wether that be a computer Co/op or invite a friend co/op maybe?

There is a difference between being critical and hating a game. I like Horizon but thought the story was barebones and didn't really evoke anything sense of emotion from me. The one thing that was a standout from the game, were the design of robot dinosaurs. Everything else it took off traditional gaming tropes which is "been there done that".

That's you. Why would I be critical of games if I don't play them? Why would I put effort into writing comments?
If you are referring my criticism of FF7 remake then look at my comment history you 'll find that I was already skeptical about the game years before its release. And I turned out to be right.
And if you're referring to my criticism of last of us 2 then it's justified because I thought that the first was a flawless game. The characters are being devolved to fit a certain agenda and have become more of a fanfiction rather than a continuation of the story....which had a fitting ending in the first game.

Certainly my favorite game of the generation. It was just something new and fresh, and was a solid game to boot. Great story, amazing graphics, and while the story points were not anything that hasn't been done before, the way it was all put together was masterful.

it would like the same with a better visual. However imagine the new sequel focusing on bandits .. human bandits who raised after the event of the first game. Bandits who utilize a revived robotics controlled by them now thing got more intelligent as bandit engineers created a new type of robotics .. basically its less dependent on robotics controlling the world

Narrative wise, it would make sense for some human faction to gain control of the robots, or Gaia herself.

This gets a bit into the territory of not being as believable though. One weakness I found with the original's plot, is you had people who understood the rather complex nature of programming and AI, and could expain it, and even utilize it. Even Aloy seemed really adept at picking up on those kinds of things, which was counter to her more hunter/gatherer upbringing.

But that may be one of those things we just need to put aside.

It's dinosaur robots, not robotic dinosaurs. Dinosaur is the adjective that describes some of the robots in HZD. The designs were taken from dinosaurs, they were not trying to be dinosaurs. There are plenty of other robots that are not based on dinosaurs in the game. If you want robotic dinosaurs, you can already find them today in several museums.
