I wish we had the option of deleting Warzone and just leave the regular multiplayer and campaign modes only.

Nitrowolf21813d ago

I thought that was the data pack they sent out, but all that did was add even more ontop. I feel there's probably a lot of useless junk stored in the files that can be cut out.

-Ghost1813d ago (Edited 1813d ago )

I downloaded the 20GB patch yesterday and was unable to connect. I try again today, the game tells me I'm missing the data pack needed for single-player, MP, and special ops - file size for that was 16GB. FFS.

excaliburps1813d ago

Yes. As it stands now, Warzone is the mandatory download and the rest aren't.

wish we had the option to play mw2 multiplayer remastered. then id delete the whole thing

KyRo1812d ago

MW2 Remastered is done but not out because Activision isn't to sure on the balancing they've made to the game which was needed. MW2 was one of the biggest and broken COD games ever released.

Flare1491812d ago

YESS! Is it really nice for some people that they added Warzone? Sure. I don't want to take that away from those people. However, I didn't buy this game with any knowledge of or intention to play Warzone, and so I think it should be completely optional for me to download that content or not. Honestly it's akin to buying a car, fitting it neatly in your garage, and then finding out you are obliged to attach increasingly larger trailers to it that you don't want or need.

Mr Logic1812d ago

It's really not like that.

If you purchase a car, then you own that car. If you purchase a game, then you are granted a license to use that game, but you never actually own it.

Mr Logic1812d ago

I'm the opposite. I don't own MW, but I do play Warzone and so I have to download the ENTIRE GAME even though I don't have access and have no plans to purchase.

Honestly they have to be doing something wrong maybe it's the new engine not being optimised and requiring duplicate assets because I'm up to 185gb on my pro. I only seem to play the same 5 maps on repeat no matter the mode.

If compression can't be better utilised they need to come up with a better content management strategy to allow players to remove old DLC packs and such that are not in use.

I've played the campaign three times now also and platinumed it so I wouldn't be adverse to losing that to save space. And removing spec ops as I found that boring. Also having the option to remove warzone would be awesome.

Makes me look forward to the ps5 and its content management system. Being able to minimise a games footprint by choosing what to install.

excaliburps1812d ago

You know I get that same five maps thing too. Like, depending on the instance you conect to, sometimes there's 5-6 maps over and over. Gun Runner, Rust, Hackneye Yard, Backlot, Cave are the usual ones I see over and over.

BenRC011812d ago

Dont believe that new engine b.s

Muzikguy1812d ago

I'll believe that content management when I see it

OhReginald1813d ago

I already got to the point where I don't bother updating the game and moved on. They do this with every call of duty.

Father__Merrin1813d ago

The patches are silly for this game. Game tweaks should be less than 1gb and even with moving assets about it don't need 29gb

Pughski1813d ago

So the previous updated from a couple days ago was 20gbs and it didn't change much at all. How & why are these updates so big

Will be interesting to see what sort of numbers GP users draw in come tomorrow. It is believed that this is one many have been waiting for.

Darth,

That is not accurate; this game is old, and most people who want it have already bought it. You might get a small number of subs, but we will mostly see a good influx of players(not new subs) from people with Game Pass who will try it, which is what happened with D4.

CoD: BO 6 will be the test for actual sub numbers.

darthv72287d ago

That's fair... seeing as many have been saying they want CoD in GP. My comment was more of , now that its here... what can it do. Im sure there will be other titles in the franchise that will either entice or turn off different users.

Bathyj287d ago

No one's buying a console and signing up for a monthly bill just to get this game to avoid buying it. That's ridiculous. Besides everyone bagged the crap out of this on release for the 4 hour campaign.

andy85287d ago

Sweet. Never got round to it on release. I'll give the campaign a go

chicken_in_the_corn286d ago

Severly underrated game. Big improvement over 2.

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
