Someone Managed To Reproduce The Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo In Dreams

TGG says: "I’m pretty sure we were all floored by Wednesday's Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo, but Martin Nebelong, a freelance artist from Denmark managed to reproduce that stunning opening scene in Dreams on the Playstation 4 and it only took him TWO hours"

Dreams never fails to impress.

bloodyspasm1857d ago

It's amazing, but I could never hope to create something like that myself. It takes a special kind of insight to use it optimally and I applaud Martin for doing it in such a short timespan 0_0

TGGJustin1857d ago

Same. I enjoy playing all the stuff other people have the skills and time to make.

bouzebbal1857d ago

Looks sick..
Can anyone do the same on project spark to compare?

Babadook71857d ago

I was hoping he would move the lighting.

NewMonday1857d ago

this is how it would look with detail scaled down for the XBoxSX

dangerousbrian01856d ago (Edited 1856d ago )

@bouzebbal that would be impossable as Project Spark is dead & unavailable & @NewMonday the detail my be exactly the same or maybe better than the PS5 on the XboxSX as it is more powerful so it would be able to do the same or better more powerful things tend to do things slightly better then less powerful things if programed right if I remember correctly. I know this is mostly a Playstation fan site but that is what Playstation sites are for hence the name Playstation in the sites title for Playstation fans & everything Playstation anything without Playstation in the sites title is a neutral site meaning equal to everything.

Imagine dreams on a ps5 🤯

TGGJustin1857d ago

Yeah I have no doubt they are working on bigger things for it for PS5. They said they have a 10 year plan for the game.

bloodyspasm1857d ago

Personally, I'd get it just to play other people's work. I don't have the patience to create levels of my own even though I'd love to one day make my Turn Based RPG based on Life as a Currency ^^

Neonridr1857d ago

@bloodyspasm - it's like that way with many games. Take even something like Mario Maker. You have the people who want to create the levels and those who just want to play with them. With Dreams I would definitely love to get my feet wet and try some things, but I don't know if I have the creativity to come up with some of this stuff. So I'd probably just want to sample what everyone else is making.

Imortus_san1857d ago

LMAO, if the game user gets small they will cut it and store it way just like any other Sony game.

bloodyspasm1857d ago

I wonder if there will be a PS5-only version of Dreams. With effects & other stuff that isn't available on the PS4 version.

TGGJustin1857d ago (Edited 1857d ago )

I would have to imagine that it will be updated with things that you can only do on PS5 especially if they support it for 10 years. Kind of like how GTA Online and Destiny stopped getting new updates on last gen consoles.

Felix_Argyle_Catbro1857d ago

Imagine Dreams on PC. Would be insane.

Ghostbob1857d ago

I think Dreams is coming to the PC

Felix_Argyle_Catbro1857d ago

Ghostbob, I certainly hope so. Limiting it to one platform isn't good.

WickedLester1857d ago

I absolutely believe this is happening.

iplay1up21857d ago

Dreams is not in development for PC yet. It is being updated for PS5 though! Media Molecule wants to bring it to PC.

fulldeepdive1857d ago

I'm here to get downvoted because I own a PlayStation and I agree more PlayStation exclusives are going to come to PC and they are. Stating facts.

MrVux0001857d ago

Now imagine it on PS5, even more insane...

Felix_Argyle_Catbro1857d ago

MrVux, PS5 is considerably weaker than a PC, so it wouldn't be insane at all.

KilluaX31857d ago

True. This game would shine the brightest on PC. It's probably going to be 30fps on PS5 which sucks.

CosmicTurtle1857d ago (Edited 1857d ago )

Having it on PC or supporting mouse and keyboard controls on PS4/5 would really up the quality of creation. The controls are fine but inevitably there are some sacrifices with precision with analogue sticks and Move. The best other addition would be VR sculpting.

People’s creativity never fails to impress. GG to the guy who made this.

Shuckylad1856d ago

His skills Using dreams is impressive. I wouldn’t say copying something is creative.

bloodyspasm1856d ago

It's not an exact copy, it's a recreation with a limited toolset. If that isn't creative 😅
