WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "All in all, I do have to say that Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee was a nice nostalgic experience, but its quirkiness isn’t quite enough to make up for its frustrating controls and terrible early 3D platforming camera problems. It’s a shame that the recent ports have only given it a facelift and not some desperately needed quality of life improvements. It’s charming and has some hilariously weird characters, but that’s unfortunately buried under the faulty gameplay mechanics. If you like the appeal of the Oddworld games, maybe try Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath instead."
Switch has received a few different entries in the Oddworld series, and it now looks like they’ll soon be bundled together.
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a decent 3D platformer that has its bugbears. But for what it’s missing in polish, it makes up for in charm.
I'm experiencing some audio issues with what I'm playing right now, but the charm certainly cannot be denied. If you can successfully charm me, then you successfully have me.
Meet Munch, hero of the Oddest Oddysee of all. His luck is about to change - for the worse. How would you feel if you broke your leg in a scrab trap...
The two Xbox Oddworld games were pretty mediocre overall. Nothing beats the first two. I didn't like New n Tasty much either, so I really hope they nail it with SoulStorm. Oddworld Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus have always been my favorite game series.
I tried this on Xbox and couldn't get into it at the time, the first two 2D games however i really enjoyed on PS1.
