Resident Evil 3's Remake Is a Boring Disappointment | VICE Review

It’s not bad enough to hate and not good enough to praise. That’s disappointing for two reasons. The remake of Resident Evil 2 was excellent, and the Mr. X encounters suggested that Capcom could update Resident Evil 3 and do something interesting and innovative with Nemesis.

Instead, Capcom chose the most boring path possible.

gleepot1885d ago

i mean, you're extremely wrong, but whatever for the hot clicks

naruga1885d ago (Edited 1885d ago )

i totally agree with the review about this lame remake ....poor graphics , poor art direction , ,obnoxiously minimal content , bad remade plot , ugly remade characters , ...some signs were obvious in RE2 Remake but at least they managed to pull together a decent remake then (but with a lot of rough edges ) since they tried to save themselves form that abomination game -RE7 ...now its obvious Capcom tries to handle RE like the COD garbage series
and make quick easy money from hype sales and not form quality

😂😂🤣 29315;😅😅

DerfDerf1885d ago

This what you are saying is you haven't played it.

Edito1885d ago

You also want clicks? I couldn't be more wrong... you can go back to perfect games now.

SegaGamer1885d ago

"but whatever for the hot clicks"

Why is it for clicks? Outside of N4G, the general consensus is that this game is a bit of a disappointment.

JokerBoy4221885d ago

The disappointment is that the price is too high and this current generation didnt know what this game was. All these young pups reviewing this game are making the exact same complaints that reviewers had in the 90's lol. You all expected some amazing and insanely different game and instead got what the game had always been lol. It was never meant to be more than Resident Evil 2.5. In this sense alone it's probably one of the more faithful remakes of all time do to recieving all the exact same criticisms yet again lol!

pwnmaster30001885d ago

Outside of N4G people like it also wtf lol...
We don’t live in this site. We know what everyone says.
Yeah 2 was better then this but it’s not that bad.

Kubark1885d ago

Yep, the N4G bubble where idiots congregate to tell themselves trash is gold. When they're not busy playing Fortnite or masturbating over Ninja on twitch, they're over here stroking each other off over their crappy games.

Joshua131882d ago

That's N4G for you. Don't like what they said? "Lol they're doing it for the clicks". It's just another way of saying "yeah, well, screw you >:("

I actually thought it was pretty damn good. However, I felt it was a little shorter than the original, and from what I recall from the previous game, Nemesis chased me a hell of a lot more in the older addition. The graphics, and the dark atmosphere was top notch. My biggest let down was how short it was.

Edito1885d ago

But our friend @nuraga up there says the graphics are poor garbage lol...

He still owns a lo-def TV with rabbit ear antennas 🤷🏾‍♂️

Nerdmaster1885d ago (Edited 1885d ago )

RE3 has two problems: it's a little too short, and it was used as a tool to make people play Resistance and spend money on lootboxes.
But one thing you can't say from this game is that it's boring. The (short) experience is really good, and I'm glad Nemesis didn't overstay its welcome like Mr X in RE2.

DerekFlint0071885d ago (Edited 1885d ago )

Completed it a day prior to release in a little over 2 hours. I have absolutely no compulsion whatsoever, to play through it again with it's insipid, uninspired boss encounters, some of which you can beat by simply running around in a clockwise or anti clockwise circle. I'd have sold it the following day to recoup my wasted investment, were it not for world events.

I absolutely loved the Re2 remake and would score it a 9. This instalment, although entertaining, I'd score a 6 for it's lack of content, run time, no challenging puzzles and poor boss encounters.

DerekFlint0071885d ago

I already had extensive knowledge of how the game played, as I had completed the Re2 remake multiple times & I had also played through the Re3 demo several times, which believe it or not, is a sizeable chunk of Re3's playthrough. Add in to the equation is, that another large section is lifted directly from Re2, then it's not too unreasonable to think that a campaign veteran can breeze through this, as I did, in a time of 2hrs 24 mins.

I prefer play the original more than this

RE3 need another remake

DivineHand12586d ago

Why not port RE4 remake to meta quest 3?

Profchaos86d ago

Because the headset isn't capable of running it simply put it's not powerful enough.

Look at metro awakening on quest 3 that's pushing it to its extreme and it's quite far behind PC and PS for graphical capabilities.

Profchaos86d ago

Wow I thought they would abandon this as the sales for village and 4 were abysmal

JEECE86d ago

For whatever reason and despite all evidence to the contrary, their are some companies bent on convincing themselves and others that people want to play premium games on Apple devices.

VersusDMC86d ago

It's assumed apple is paying for the ports. Apple probably paid a lump sum for all the RE games so capcom is just finishing up the contract.

Or maybe Capcom sees this as port practice for the switch 2 or these ports are what the switch 2 versions will be?

Out with the old in with the new. Some decent games here but nothing that couldn't be grabbed for a fiver or less if you wanted to keep playing.

Ps plus library pick-up games have been great lately so can't be upset losing these when we are getting stuff like gow Ragnarok or the man who erased his name even the classics have been good lately

SegaSaturn669114d ago

RIP 9 game, I've hardly played ye.
