Dirt Rally 2.0 GOTY Edition is a must-buy for any rally fans. Accurate and rewarding simulation, sumptuous visuals, excellent audio and unparalleled variety in its content. This game is ideal for any racing fan, period. It’s definitely challenging, and it takes a certain skill set to become adept, but if you have the skills or patience to master it, it’s one of the best and most complete rally games ever made.

Currently free in PS Plus ;)

Yes, it's worth picking up the season pass, as it roughly doubles the amount of content. Plus, Colin McRae, it's gotta be done!

EazyC1854d ago

Picked this up on PS Plus...my oh my it's difficult! The whole concept of using the handbrake (for hairpins) is new to me, I've replaced my clutch pedal's function for it.

AuraAbjure1854d ago

Do you have much experience racing in rl or in video games? Don't hairpin turns typically benefit enormously from using the handbrake?

EazyC1854d ago

Not in sims, I've never used it in PCars 2 outside of rallycross.

Supreme game design & overall super fun. I cannot wait until the next Dirt game runs on the latest iteration of the EGO engine with Dolby Atmos support!

If Codemasters's next couple of games sell well then I do believe the company should have enough money and resources to develop a brand new more modernized game engine. And given they are code masters... I hope they get that opportunity before too long.

DiRT Rally 2.0 Game of the Year Edition Review | TheXboxHub

Paul writes: "The Game of the Year Edition of DiRT Rally 2.0 on Xbox One does enough to earn its name. Collecting a year's worth of DLC into one package, with all the extra cars and tracks, is a great idea, but then also including the excellent Colin McRae Flat Out Pack ensures that the game is pretty much double the size it was at first launch."

Got the base game with Plus. Wanted to like it but couldn't get into it. Then there was Rally Cross - beat the first tournament quite easily and couldn't imagine anyone wanting to play beyond that.

Promptly deleted it. I'd much rather have 70GB of free storage space for something else.

How are the tires holding up? No more.

AuraAbjure1837d ago (Edited 1837d ago )

Game is the coolest and most hardcore sim. Codemasters is a great company that gives their community exactly what they ask for while maintaining what makes their games feel unique and stylish.

Knushwood Butt1837d ago (Edited 1837d ago )

Well, looking at the forums and how the first season pass had a time limit that expired, locking those users out of daily events with a high cedit bonus, I think it's questionable that they give the community exactly what they ask for.

Also, where is psvr support? Plenty of people asked for that.

Still, I give them credit for going with a more hardcore approach to rallying.

AuraAbjure1835d ago

At least they added other types of VR support like for the vive and quest.

Dirt Rally 2.0 can eat crap. I loved the first on PS4 so downloaded this on plus. A lot of the time it won’t let me do anything even offline because there are problems with the servers. This includes playing career mode or upgrading your team.

The worst part! I was 5 stages into a 6 stage rally, and because the connection with their server dropped, i was taken to the main menu. Only to be told all progress reset in my championship. This crap never happened in Dirt Rally 1. Screw this online only piece of piss. Otherwise it’s a good game.

Knushwood Butt1836d ago

Indeed. For some reason this game gets a free pass when it comes to the always online element.

To be fair I didn't have any issues with the servers during the limited time I spent with the game, but if it had reset my progress like in your case I would have been very p*****.

whitbyfox1836d ago

I’m glad you didn’t have problems at least. It’s a shame because it’s a great game otherwise.

AuraAbjure1835d ago

What did you expect? It's PSN

whitbyfox1834d ago

And i thought Sony fanboys were bad.

Yeah, but where is the PSVR support? The one in Dirt Rally is really, really good and comes highly recommended if you have the headset.

jukins1851d ago

I don't think they're willing to make the same concessions to the the experience again. This dirt looks much better than the previous and includes areas which would probably require even less fidelity than on the current dirt psvr version. But yea if they do make a vr mode I'd definwtly buy it
