That's weird I was put off after the Japanese reviewers were saying the Royal didn't add much. These reviews are saying something else.

Odd indeed. But well jp gamers are quite critical with games. I imagine the game has at least as much added content like golden and fes which I am completely fine with. Also playing the game in jp voices too which makes it a bit more fresh for me as I played base game in dub for only 1 playthrough.

I want to buy the game, but I bought the original for about $50 a few months after it came out but never got around to playing it past the first hour or 2... I'm not sure if I'll like it, but the art style is grabbing me.

Persevere if you can, honestly, the first 2 hours or so are merely tutorials. Once the game proper starts if will grab you and won't let go, it really is as good as the hype suggests.

I feel sorry for anyone playing this. I platinumed it just to scratch the itch but my god it got boring before the end. The constant text messages throughout the whole game, that basically repeated the 10 minute dialogue cutscenes ten minutes earlier, were infuriating. Persona 3 and 4 are so much better.
