I agree - Isolation truly was the only good Alien game, and a fantastic sequel to the original (unpopular opinion: I don't actually like James Cameron's "Aliens" that much).

I liked the Doom movie with Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban...

But I don’t see a connection between the movie Alien and Doom games. Doom games are all out Guns and crazy monsters. Alien was more thriller than action. Aliens brought a lot more action but even then, I don’t think they are very similar.

No, it absolutely is not "equivalent" at all. The two have many more differences than they have similarities.

And Doom hasn't been a hit on the big screen for the same reason any other movie typically bombs: bad writing, directing, and acting.

The strong parts of Alien was the claustrophobia and feeling of being weak. Doom is the antithesis of feeling weak as you straight murder your way through hell itself. Bad take!

uh....Ridley Scott's Alien was a sci-fi horror movie. No real weapons, certainly not any guns. Only one enemy that hid in the shadows and killed people one-by-one.

How is that anything like the adrenaline fueled, action oriented game with tons of weapons and hordes of enemies?

Diehard alien fan here and I would take a remake of alien colonial marines anyday. I actually liked the game after some modding to get the graphics close to what they showed.

Love the doom franchise but we need a proper and good aliens game. Alien colonial marines should have been that but wasnt.

Not even close. Doom games are fast, responsive games and, discounting Aliens, the films are generally slow, with the focus on building tension.

They're not alike, they're almost polar opposites
