Doom 64 Nintendo Switch Review | NoobFeed

Doom Eternal, Bethesda and Id decided to simultaneously port what is undoubtedly the most elusive Doom title to date. Doom 64 was, until now, a Nintendo 64 exclusive title, meaning that for years barely anyone played it.

Doesn’t MS own you now Bethesda? I can’t see the reason why a physical version is not available on all three?

deleted1297d ago

Boxes don't fall in line with Gamepass too much.

CobraKai1297d ago

Exactly, how are MS gonna push their gaming service if there’s a physical copy.

Sitdown1297d ago

So what Microsoft games are on Gamepass without a box?

xxShadow-Shockxx1297d ago

Tbh, im confused by this as well. I wonder what the reasoning for this is

Doom 64 was planned way in advance by Limited Run Games, long before the Zenimax deal

Not to mention I don't think I've ever seen Limited Run Games release an edition on the Xbox, everything so far has been PS4, Nintendo Switch and original formats like Gameboy, NES, SNES. It's just how LRG work.

Edgelordsupreme1297d ago

Yeah I'm a little mystified how people who frequent this site don't know that LRG never does Xbox versions.

onyzero1297d ago

Historically I think it's because Xbox didn't want to do/wouldn't let companies order such small runs of physical copies...

Dark_Overlord1296d ago

Yeah, LRG mentioned MS demanded 10,000 copies MOQ, though this was a while ago so I'm not sure if it's changed now.

"Doesn’t MS own you now Bethesda".

Ownership of Bethesda will not be complete until q2 2021.

NEXUS-61297d ago

It's already on PS4 too - this is more for collector's.

I don't think I have seen any of these limited editions physical disk for xbox. Ms does own them yes but this deal could be before Ms acquired them just like sony's deals with bethesda

King_Noctis1297d ago

Microsoft allows Zenimax to honor any prior commitments that were made before the acquisition.

It's likely this was worked out before MS's most recent purchase, and it's Limited Run who's making these physical copies, not Bethesda. So...ask them. Heck if I know the answer to that.

Zjet1296d ago

It's got nothing to do with the Bethesda buyout or Gamepass.

Limited Run pretty much never does XBOX versions, why? because Microsoft demands a significantly higher minimum cap for production runs.

Sony and Nintendo allow a lower minimum cap, thus Limited Run can actually afford to buy/print these 'limited runs'

franwex1297d ago

It’s also out on N64...

Unknown_Gamer57941297d ago

And in far less limited quantities to boot.

UltimateOwnage1296d ago

Funny. Where are all of the “exclusives are anti consumer” comments now. Exclusives are good now? Oh, I see.

cluclap1296d ago

This has nothing to do with exclusives. It has to do with physical box

Google Stadia Announces DOOM 64 And New Sales

Looks like another retro title is coming backed by some sales as DOOM 64 is coming to Google Stadia.

XxExacutionerxX1436d ago

I don't think you need to stream Doom 64 to get it to run on your phone

Garethvk1436d ago

It is all connected to their system. If you want the version you get with Google Stadia then it can stream to your television or certain Android phones.
