Final Fantasy IX Should Be Remade Next

Of all the Final Fantasy games that should be revisited, Final Fantasy IX it is the overlooked gem that could benefit most from a remake.

6 was such a great FF game. They did everything possible for a 2D sprite game. Every character was unique and fun to use with their own abilities and interesting back stories

Does 10 really need the remaster? The ports we have on modern consoles for 10 and 12 look great as it is, I'd rather older games get this treatment first.

I'd rather they go back and deliver on the rumored 5/6 remakes. Also, I love FFVIII too. I'm not saying don't remake IX...just that there are other entries in the series I'd love to see remade too. On the other hand I may just be opening a Pandora's Box where SE just remakes every game in the series, of which there are a lot, so I suppose we need to draw the line somewhere.

I'm sick of VIII getting the short straw, we had to wait an extra year and a half to just get it on the PS4. VII and IX came under a year after one another.

The opening of VIII, the Waltz for the Moon dance, The Landing segment and the Garden Battle in HD...who wouldn't want to see that.

It's the best mainline Final Fantasy on PS1 so yes. Thing is I just want a straight-up remake. I don't want one section to expand to 30 more hours. Just remake it exactly how it was except fix tetra card battle. I rather that segment just be a cutscene or optional to skip.

Only thing that SE needs to remake after FF7 is Xenogears !! I'd be happy with Chrono Trigger or Vagrant Story also . They have alot of IPs that need a remake treatment other then FF
