why would it put anyone off?
Yes. I want next gen games to take full advantage of the new hardware and not be bottlenecked by last gen consoles.
I see why the question was asked. Some people wolud ask "why buy a new system to play old games?"

No it doesn't but I want to see a few true next gen games as well next to the cross gen games. That is why I'm buying the PS5, for next gen mostly.
PS4/XboxOne had cross-gen games too. I expect that to die off after a year like it did last time but we'll see.
