Crowdfunded games: When we talk about new game releases, it can be easy to get caught up in the spectacle of AAA releases.
They list Pillars, which is awesome. But how do you list that, and then pass over games like the original sim series? Even Wasteland 2, while a bit janky, was huge for so many people. Outside of that, Kingdom Come: Deliverence is an amazing experience to come out of Kickstarter. It took some post launch patching, but it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and I put it alongside games like Planescape: Torment, Morrowind, New Vegas, and Witcher 2/3.
Don't forget about Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, both those games were fantastic.
Oh damn. I tried listing those but apparently now original sim is a thing, and was Kickstarted lol.
I'm ashamed at myself for forgetting 1-8 were Kickstarters and how awesome that platform can be when put in the hands of the right developers. On a personal note my fav personal Kickstarter game is Bloodstained Ritual of the Night loved every bit of that game.
