The game does however live in The Banner Saga's shadow a fair bit, and even though it's seen as a big influence I don't think it's done the game any favours as you can't help but compare the two.

Karl writes: The storyline itself is set in a world names Terminus, a rather European looking medieval land, which is being threatened once again by a plague called The Reaping. The last time the “Reapers” (as the monsters are called) attacked Terminus they were foiled by a group of twelve heroes who sacrificed themselves to save humanity – except one of the heroes was injured in battle so couldn’t bravely turn himself to stone like the others, as far as I can tell, he’s the reason the plague has returned.
