For some reason I feel like Elon Musk will sooner or later try to throw his hat in the ring and become a console maker at some point.

porkChop1556d ago

I don't know if it would be a console or not, but Elon would definitely do something radical and revolutionary. He's all about pushing things forward. He's a gamer though, so it wouldn't be surprising if he got into games eventually.

Abnor_Mal1556d ago

Agree it would be something radical, really can't see it being some kind of gaming rig because iirc that was tried and failed already. A console with a lot of horsepower but sold at a lost to keep it competitive.

darthv721556d ago

He will add gaming systems to his autonomous vehicles so the people inside have something to do while the car drives itself.

Abnor_Mal1556d ago

@darthv72 I believe they already put The Witcher3 into some of their cars already so passengers could play. Not sure if the person behind the wheel was allowed to play while the car was in motion, autonomously or not. Most likely only while the car was in park would the driver than be able to play.

Just checked but can not find anything beyond five days ago.

frostypants1556d ago (Edited 1556d ago )

He'd only do it if he thought of something to offer that no one else was making. Like a console that required some crazy full suit VR rig for under $1000 or something.

Abnor_Mal1556d ago

PC market appears to be working on different types of haptic controller types and body suits. I could see him with a Tesla console with haptic feed back suit and VR glasses like the ones Panasonic just showed off not too long ago.

How the hell is that suppose to get us to mars..

Abnor_Mal1556d ago

VR is the first step, create a realistic VR Mars environment for travellers to prepare themselves for space travel. Then strap them into gyroscopic device while in VR to give the feel of weightlessness.

Honestly that's kinda the thing...most of what he does is something he sees as having a game-changing impact on society and infrastructure/transport. An entertainment undertaking might not be in his wheelhouse.

Abnor_Mal1556d ago

@frostypants true, but then why even go through the bother of trying to add games to your cars.

Many people have a side hustle, maybe making a gaming system would be his. What was the game changing impact to society with the flamethrower he is selling? I believe that's just another side hustle that made him a boat load of money just being a novelty side project. Same could be said about a super console for the die hard tech people that game.

Besides he doesn't have to be in charge of the day to day of the console business, I'm sure he has people for things like that.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
