Meme?

You mean the scene? Memes didn't exist in 1989.

S2Killinit1922d ago

True. But it did turn into a meme years later

Memes existed throughout human history. Internet memes are a subcategory. The term 'meme' was coined by Richard Dawkins in his book "The Selfish Gene", which came out in 1976.

ShadowWolf7121922d ago

Funny thing is the actual line is "Over 8,000" and Vegeta's supposed to be more extremely annoyed than shrieking.

That's the bit that became the meme.

Its missing a lot of other scenes but yeah "9000" is kinda iconic

DarkZane1922d ago

Why would they put a scene that was a translation and dub mistake in the original anime? It's 8000 and Vegeta is only slightly annoyed, not angry.

Outlawzz1922d ago (Edited 1922d ago )

Wow I haven't got to that part but really ?!! They had one job in that part. Get the 9000 scene in there. Should have been top priority during development.

For me, it's the Naruto series. Of any anime I have seen, I think this one has the most potential to be an open world rpg. It's not very original and I know we have a lot of Naruto games, but I think Naruto's world is one of the most fun and interesting. I don't really know why we have only had fighting games for Naruto, it always felt like a series that could easily be a open world action game.

I actually think there is more reasons for creating a Naruto open world rpg than DBZ. Naruto's world is a lot more interesting and fleshed out than Dragon Ball's is.

TheEspiownage1883d ago

Naruto actually had some games like that from Ubisoft on the Xbox 360. Didn’t do the whole series obviously, but that’s quite a bit of ground to cover.

NotoriousWhiz1882d ago

They need to bring back the GameCube / Wii style Naruto fighting games. I preferred those over the ultimate storm series.

One Piece still haven’t got a good game after all these years. I hope this anime is next for the DBZ developer.

TheEspiownage1882d ago

It didn’t use the story of the anime, but One Piece just got an open world action RPG with World Seeker. Not saying it was great, but it’s not a series that hasn’t had one, plus the series isn’t over, and with it being so long, they’ll definitely have to release it in parts.

Sono4211882d ago (Edited 1882d ago )

I agree, I think One Piece or even Naruto would be perfect for an open world RPG, not to mention those plus Dragonball make up the Big 3, so it only makes sense that those two would also be the ones to get this treatment. Both Naruto and One Piece have very iconic areas that would be amazing to see in an open world game. Only issue with those two is that their stories are so long it would be harder to condense into such a short story. Especially One piece, I mean it would have to stop after... idk somewhere before timeskip lol probably at skypiea? Maybe water7? it's one of my most favorite arcs so I would hope water 7 would make it. Ideally one would be pre timeskip and the sequel would be post time skip, but man idk, they'd have to do A LOT of cutting.

Melankolis1882d ago

I can imagine Hunter X Hunter being open world RPG. Starting from 1st arc to Hunter Election arc, with many side missions in it. I doubt they can put all of that in one single game.

Blackcanary1882d ago

I agree with Sailor Moon. I kept saying that a sailor Moon series like this would be great when I was playing it. Also Fairy Tail would be perfect to.

Teflon021882d ago

Only issue with sailor moon is school. I feel it would need school management like Persona or Trails. But definitely Fairy Tail. It's nice they're getting a straight RPG game. But they would make an amazing action RPG. It would especially work well because the unique magic everyone uses.

Blackcanary1881d ago

Wait is Fail Tail getting a RPG game?

I think Dragon Ball needs a spin-off. One without Goku or the usual characters, or about dragged out fights and over the top baddies. More adventure than action, with new characters, and of course the dragon balls. I don't think there's anything that says it has to be ONLY about Goku.

Positivelypositive 1886d ago

I would love a game with fresh characters done in the style of the original dragon ball and not the Z type where its power levels and energy blasts and that's about it. techniques and martial art types and such would be awesome to see again.

AK911886d ago

It would be cool yes but I don't think it "really needs" it.
