As expected... A laggy, stuttering, compressed, artifact riddled, unplayable mess. The worlds internet infrastructure is just not ready for this.

Zeref1551d ago (Edited 1551d ago )

Plenty of people have the right connection for this lol but keep telling yourself that.

rainslacker1551d ago

Not so much on a cell phone.

Unspoken1551d ago

WiFi instead of cellular?

gamer78041551d ago

"Option" is the key word, I've tried it on a good connection and it worked very well, I've tried it on a poor connection and it worked poorly. as expected, but again, this is a supplement , not a replacement like stadia.

Xbox Game Streaming on Android is a Great Option | Gamerheadquarter“

DuckOnQuack351551d ago

Lmao uhm you sure about that?

DJStotty1551d ago

This is streaming from console to android device, so lag etc is solely dependent on the gamer's network setup/speed.

this is not Xcloud

As you dislike MS so much why don't you tell us why it's not a good option?

Chris121551d ago

Dovergamer, lots of people have acceptable input lag, and again we are talking about an OPTION.

So again, why is it bad having an option?

King_Noctis1551d ago (Edited 1551d ago )

If it isn’t, they why did the author praised it?

Edit: MS must have paid for this positive article.

RazzerRedux1551d ago

"For the most part it was quite flawless, at times it did face some pixelization when running even though I was very close in terms of all the devices involved. I also noticed that going upstairs would cause disconnects, so some work is still needed. While that might sound somewhat negative, it’s really quite marvelous."

"It really did come across as being flawless input wise, that being said there was a slight feeling of delay or lag in regard to interactions for multiplayer games."

Why does he keep saying how "flawless" it is while pointing out the flaws?

Dovergamer1551d ago

Razzer, that is the classical double talk and double think that Microsoft uses to confuse people. It is a market strategy known since the modern times. Something that has mistakes can't be flawless.

Streaming is not the right way to play video games because NOT EVERYBODY has the same internet connections. Only few, very few, can enjoy this. However the majority who has an average connection is not possible due to the excessive input lag of almost four seconds. That is unplayable. Even one second is way too much.

rob-GP1551d ago

I doubt it would ever give you a lag of four seconds - that's beyond lag, that's basically unplayable. Lag of a second is too much, it's usually around half a second lag at most with streaming services. But, you can't generalise it as PS has got it right with their Remote Play - that service works great within your own house as the connection is all through your own router. If you go outside, it's based on your internal upload speeds and external download - which still works with minimal lag if you've opened your ports correctly and have your PS4 wired to your router.

Dovergamer1551d ago (Edited 1551d ago )

Rob-GP:

"it's usually around half a second lag at most with streaming services."

But that is intolerable on any standards. Players reacts at less than 1/10 of a second. Lag of that magnitude is the difference of failing or success. With the current state Streaming multi player games is out of the question for obvious reasons more over if there is stuttering.

"But, you can't generalise it as PS has got it right with their Remote Play - that service works great within your own house as the connection is all through your own router. Problem: I have a PS4 and I know what remote play does. The problem is that such alternative is not playable at the moment and it won't be in about 20 years. The internet infrastructure has a long road ahead of them if they want to make streaming gaming viable. Right now the technology is not read. Simple as that.

Let us review stadia:

See?

Chris121551d ago

Dovergamer running down an MS service, what a surprise. 20 years for acceptable internet and it's intolerable. That will be news for many who are already enjoying the service. Fake concern duly noted (again, and again, and again)

Dovergamer1551d ago (Edited 1551d ago )

Chris12:

Try to simply use your real account instead of this obvious alternate troll account.

"Dovergamer running down an MS service, what a surprise."

Stadia provided proof. Shall we quote the proof already available?

"20 years for acceptable internet and it's intolerable. That will be news for many who are already enjoying the service."

Streaming gaming is not a valid option for multi player and time reactions that are at 1/10 of a second. 1/2 a second is simply a disadvantage in almost any game. Quick reaction and one to one responsiveness is a given. With streaming services the games are not playable today because not everybody can pay for a good internet connection.

"Fake concern duly noted (again, and again, and again)"

Concern? How about the evidence:

And we have results.

So say again?

Chris121551d ago

Dovergamer - you make up as much BS about me as you do about MS. Want to make a claim, then prove it or shut up. Talking about alt accounts whilst being one of the major N4G anti-MS trolls is laughable.

As for your point, once again, it's an option and people are already enjoying it.

As for Stadia, are they using MS's complete infrastructure? If not, whats your point?

Love the way you keep missing the question being asked as the tunnel visioned trolling has become to strong for you to resist.

Dovergamer1551d ago

"Dovergamer - you make up as much BS about me as you do about MS."

Yep, this troll is ironic. Easy to spot on.

"Want to make a claim, then prove it or shut up."

I provided proof, you didn't.

"Talking about alt accounts whilst being one of the major N4G anti-MS trolls is laughable."

One thing is telling the truth, the other is to go against MS. To be honest MS is doing a fine good job hacking themselves up. I don't have to do anything. They alone are digging themselves a hole.

"As for your point, once again, it's an option and people are already enjoying it."

But evidence of lag is there and is proven. Casuals who are clueless will throw themselves into a service. People who knows about video games, unlike you, will be skeptic waiting for the improvement on the service and the infrastructure.

"As for Stadia, are they using MS's complete infrastructure? If not, whats your point?"

This is why you comprehend absolutely nothing. The internet in general provides lots of hurdles for these services. Input lag is a reality because of the nature of the internet itself. The infrastructure in general is not ready to deal with the LOAD of people.

"Love the way you keep missing the question being asked as the tunnel visioned trolling has become to strong for you to resist."

You are not making any question. You are not proving any point other than trolling. No one takes you seriously. Just go ahead and post again. I'm done with you.

Chris121551d ago (Edited 1551d ago )

Dovergamer, you are literally the only person making things up. And I asked you to prove this is an alt account, which you clearly haven't.

Online play always comes with input lag, what is acceptable is down to the individual gamer, their connection and the type of game they play. It is not for you to say it's crap for everyone. If lag were as big a problem as you suggest none of us would play online at all.

The only reason you're here is to downplay in an Xbox article, it's your MO here on N4G.

And as for trolling, weren't you the one sending me a PM the other day and then blocked me because you didn't want to hear the reply. A complete clown if there ever was one.

There's something strange going on with this article. It's not 'flawless' if you can feel the lag and it disconnects when you walk upstairs. Compare this with the remote play available on the PS4 via mobile, tablet, PC or Vita devices, three's minimal lag to the point you won't notice unless you're really picky, and it doesn't just randomly cut out unless you walk outside of your wifi range.

All I got from the quote you posted is that the device offers controls - that's what he thinks makes it 'flawless', the fact it has controls - shame he then proceeds to state they're laggy and feel delayed.

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name38d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno38d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno38d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure37d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
