Dragon Age 4 isn't the hype machine it once was, but an Origins remake could do a lot to stoke the flame of fandom for the series.

Nah. I'd rather them not tarnish the one truly stellar entry in the series with mounds of cosmetic dlc, and possibly negative changes to narrative and story elements to make it more woke.

Khalina32d ago

Have you played the game recently? I played it a while back and was actually surpised how "woke" the game is. I think back when came out, no one cared if something was woke or not. It's only a recent trend. It had all the issues such as: racial tension, claiming "privilege", discrimination, classism, and sexual identity, among others.

I do agree otherwise, and would rather see them create something original, and preferably single player.

Khalina32d ago

@TheRealTedCruz, But of course I also get what you mean, in many narrative aspects the more recent BioWare games have been more "tame" and safe in comparison.

spwittbold32d ago

Perhaps you are forgetting that the creators are based in Edmonton, Canada. Canada being one of the most "woke" Nations on the planet, not surprised that the woeness in video games was early here.

Ogygian32d ago

I would argue that a great many things have contained those issues throughout all of human history. They're eternal themes present in most stories and fictional worlds.

What separates modern Bioware games from the old is that they're propaganda (they don't raise questions but deliver answers) which serves an angry cult hell-bent on forcing through its desired changes to the world without question.

DAO, the only great game in the series.

They should remake Knights of the Old Republic, or atleast remaster it using a newer engine like the Dark Souls 1 remaster using the Dark Souls 3 engine.

OMG could you imagine a Resident Evil 2 style remake for Knights of the Old republic. I'd faint....

Whatever they make, let it not be the usual EA service based game. Take the time, enrich the franchises' lore and polish it like the studio's future depends on it.
Actually EA should make use of Star Wars High Republic license and let them develop the RPG game.
Or overhaul Anthem and introduce a single-player campaign in it?

Maywell32d ago

Forget Dragon Age 4 for now. I am still waiting for Anthem 2.0 (revamped). Seriously. Anthem has a lot of potential and there is no way Bioware should or would pass it away. For me personally, I have almost 600 hours in it, so I'd love to see it getting better. I have a lot of fun playing it.

RpgSama32d ago

600 hours for a game that has "potential"? Then how much time do you spend on actual great games??

Indigon32d ago

It is absolutely weird that cashgrabbers like EA leave money on the table by refusing to do remasters of this game or the Mass Effect trilogy.

TheRealTedCruz32d ago

I would love to see a proper remaster of the original. Even 2. 3? Eh. Wasn't bad; wasn't great.

sourOG32d ago

Agreed. I only want the first really lol. One of my all time favorites. I never finished 2 and never played 3.

Gahl1k32d ago

How would you monetise a remaster/remake? One-time payment is not enough for those guys.
