Though there are many games I am interested in and/or looking forward to, only one game is on my highly anticipated list so far and that is Ghost of Tsushima.
I really want to be excited for Destroy All Humans remake, but the devs making it have a rather underwhelming track record.
But the source material is solid I just hope they can pull it off sounds like they are making some design changes though to modernize it
No Dying Light 2? Pretty much the only game I'm excited about this year so far, especially since Chris Avellone is writing for it. Man knows his way around narrative branching.

We just got Sekiro. Nioh 2 is on the way.
On the other side we have older stuff like GoW, Hellblade, Banner Saga, etc.
Neither is "exactly fresh," but judging by the assumed launch next fall, an asian AC would come out within months of Nioh 2 and GoT. That wouldn't be smart.

There are millions of games set in feudal Japan. It's one of the the most common settings ever.
Was thinking the same thing. Before Sekiro/Nioh, there wasn't really a whole lot of Ninja games recently. A ninja assasin's creed game fits on so many levels. Really surprised they never made one. Now IMO would not be a good time because we are kind of saturated with them. Maybe in 5 years.
How cool who it had been to see Aztec warfare? Norse mythology has been done, feudal Japan has been done, ancient Egypt done, ancient Rome done. The Aztec culture was very war driven so it puzzles me that nobody has ever even come up with this concept.

Now the question is, is it a shame cuz the game will suffer some performance drops cuz of it OR cuz the game won't be pirated straight away.
Hasn't affected me yet; people just like to get angry. People are upset at the smallest of edge cases and it really bugs me how they don't look to enjoy life instead of getting bogged down by the details.
Of course there is. Most major games have two, maybe three versions every times. Hell Assassin's Creed Odyssey had EIGHT different releases.

If the part about Ireland is true then my hype for this game will be huge. I love it when a game is set here i love it when Ireland is visited. Reminds me of a game called Folklore for the PS3 that was set in Ireland i really should play that game again soon.
Agreed. Celtic mythology is under rated and I've always wondered why no one has really tapped into it through film/games. Even factual historical events in ancient Ireland, like Brian Boru defeating the Vikings, could make great source material for film/games and it's something I'd love to see.
It's not tapped into because our own production companies won't put any money into making anything like that.
We rely on other countries using ours as their set location. That's why we had Vikings and Game of Thrones here. Using the landscape but they dont need our heritage. Blame RTE! Bleeding the state and giving nothing in return
Black Flag was the last (only?) fresh take on the series. I feel like the series has only regressed back to the same old boringness since then.

I am curious to see how this one turns out, too. I like the RPG direction, but wish they didn't design the game around MTs - things that were in the game previously were removed only to be made available as separate, paid content (like treasure maps that were once available from merchants). And put back the passive means of generating money. And put back the option to have AI level scale with you. And don't make it so annoyingly expensive to upgrade your equipment.
It won't be. This game will be just another grind-heavy-filler game. Pointless story just like the previous two (yes, I beat them both), constantly entering combat with enemies that have illogical amounts of health (sure let me stab you 60 times before you die, makes sense!) endless item acquisitions for upgrading everything non-stop to give the illusion of 'progress' when in reality its just gatekeeping slowing down your adventure in order to push you towards their digital store within the game.
And of course let's not forget in true Ubisoft fashion, the out-dated sluggish combat mechanics that get boring within the first few hours, but enjoy doing it for the next 80 hours. The only reason Ubisoft even makes games these days is because of the digital store to sell you microtransaction trash.
And I'm sitting here hoping it's more like it than not. Definitely want some improvements, but the gameplay in Odyssey was really good IMHO.
It's ubi they let you pay real world money for bullets in far cry new dawn and cars / clothes in watchdogs 2 maybe they will make you pay for weapon repairs in ac.
