Xbox Series X should consider adopting this terrific concept for next gen box art, creating fierce visual competition for PS5.
Looks terrible...The Xbox Logo is too big on the box
I can see liking a product and making concept art, but it's really not worth an article
Too big, looks like the stickers rental stores put on cases.
I miss the days of Game Manuals...
they've gotten so lazy they don't even do the digital manuals anymore.
I know I still read my ancient ones. They used to cram a lot of cool stuff in there!
I don't like cutting out part of the image for a dedicated Xbox plug.
Just a green box is sufficient to know it’s Xbox
For gamers, yes. Grandparents and many parents buying games, no.
Looks like it's aping off the Switch style and failing.
It doesn't look bad, it would be better if the "box" was more transparent instead of black.
I’d make the logo and text a little smaller, other than that it’s not bad
I like it, but I’ve gone all digital this year and will only continue that going forward. I get physical games if they fall to the $25-$20 range on a sale
Um...no, the Xbox logo dominates the case and there is no transitions within the different shapes...its incredibly boxy.
All these what if and mock-outrage articles. It's like the NFL football off-season,at some point the season just needs to start because people have run out of things to write/talk about. The release of the new consoles can't come soon enough.
Very bold. I love it!
If this was the box art concept that was chosen, I wouldn’t be upset about it. Honestly, it’s not that bad. Although, the font and logo may be huge it’s minor details to adjust. It still has a clean look to it and isn’t all over the place. It also Has visuals that may allure some people to pick it up, look at it, and ask questions.
That’s nice I hate the Xbox one box that has the raised Xbox one text at the top it’s rough and gross imo, I prefer PS4 boxes cause it’s just a Blu-ray box I get trying to stand out but the way MS did it for Xbox one is horrible imo.
I actually like the xbone square-ish box more. Similar to the GameCube games, I like that box more because of its angular shape. Last gen I like PS3 more for using the blu-ray boxes (that everyone hated initially). I guess I like the odd box of the bunch.
So they're going to up their box art skills this gen. Nice.
Look like a movie DVD.
Meh, most or the majority of my games will be and are digital, don't really look at game boxes anyways..
I have no idea what is going on with game media lately. It seems like everyone was freaking out over the amazingly bold strides Playstation was taking with the new PS5 logo and the stunning change from a 4 to a 5, and now we're to believe that some random geometric background and not showing the box art aligned correctly (plus text with a font - A FONT YOU GUYS) is a 'sleek change' and a 'terrific concept' for 'fierce visual competition'.
Eeew, looks quaint, like nature CD-Rom being sold at a book store
The system logo should never obstruct the actual game box art.
How is this even news????
Xbox fans are desperate for anything that makes them feel good about Xbox so they basically eat crap "news" like this one.
I don't give a fuck for the front cover, just get rid of all that text in the back cover of all Xbox / PS and Nintendo games, people don't give a fuck for the horrible gigantic load of text on the back cover, just use it to squeese more game images.
So, basically copy the Switch game-box format? wow how amazing/S
Just a giant Xbox logo and minute device compatible lettering will be very confusing for ordinary non-gamer folks. Xbox Series X and Z should be top and center. Followed by Xbox One compatibility info just below.
I'm so confused about next gen games. Will there be dedicated releases of re3, halo6 and doom on ps5/series X ? Or will they simply be backwards compatible? not even Microsoft can answer this simple question. I'd much rather have real ps5/series X games than buckets of ps4/xboxone games that happen to play on ps5/series X
