Metro Redux Appears to be Headed to the Nintendo Switch

If a now-removed listing of Metro Redux can be believed, it appears the popular remasters are coming to the Nintendo Switch in the not to

I would be very doubtful. Those games are pretty intensive. I can't see them optimizing the game to run properly on the Switch to be honest.

Yeah they got doom and witcher working on switch, granted they have to remove alot and the versions look awful compared to the others but point Is virtually any game can run on the switch it's just a matter of how much your willing to put up with for the portability.

I hope so, I'm a Switch owner. I just take rumours with a grain of salt. This dev has never been fond of Nintendo. Here's hoping this turns out to be true.

As someone who has out in 100+ hours on PS4 and Switch, the Switch version does not look bad. The PS4 looks better, but to say Switch looks bad is a stretch.

They are PS3 games FFS. Switch can handle them just fine. Doom is far more intensive than those 7th gen games.

the Redux were the remastered versions that were on PS4 and XB1. Not the originals.

So what if they are remastered? Switch has a bunch of PS3 era remasters. Do you think they are more intensive than Warframe, Dragon Quest XI, Witcher 3, Doom, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein II? How about BOTW and Mario Kart 8 DE? Red Faction Guerilla had trouble running on 360 because of the destructible environments. Ran just fine on Switch and even has sharper textures than 360. Skyrim remastered on Switch is the enhanced version not the base version on PS3 and 360. PS3 could not even run the base game. Bulletstorm is on Switch and looks as good as ever.

Im replaying Metro 2033 now. Buggy but alot of fun. Still some of the best atmosphere design in any game.

So many Switch haters! I have all 3 current gen consoles, and appreciate being able to play Witcher 3, Doom, Breath of the Wild and other fantastic games anywhere I want.

People complaining about a graphics downgrade, they are not bad at all. Most of the games look great for being played on a hybrid. Playing Witcher 3 in handheld mode you don't notice as much of the downgrade. Playing on a HD TV you notice. The Switch is aging hardware, but it is still a fantastic system, because I can play anytime anywhere. Bet Switch 2 will come out holiday 2021. It will be 4 years and 7 months old then.

The way these haters act, you would think that the switch ports of Doom, Wolfenstein, and The Witcher 3 all look like N64 games or something.

What the developers are able to pull off in spite of the huge power gap between current gen consoles and what is essentially a handheld with a TV out option is nothing short of amazing.

This gives me some hope that maybe we'll get a true portable version of Final Fantasy XIV at some point.

Nintendo is pumping out new games. This is 3rd party devs who clearly want to milk the audience a little more. I get what you are saying, but the devs could have simply decided not to port their games over and then the library would be that much smaller and then people would be complaining that there aren't enough games for the Switch.

Its the cool hybrid feature allowing you to play on the go for console quality games and the 1st party Nintendo games. Original games from 3rd party hardly ever make it to a console exclusively anymore lol. And if they do, its a timed exclusive like ffvii remake, death stranding, and octopath traveler. Lol xbox doesn't even have true exclusives anymore. Blame the 3rd party for just bringing these cashgrab ports of old games. You do know nintendo are working on new games right? And the ones theyve released last year like fe three houses and astral chain?

I don't own a switch, but glad to see Switch getting some 3rd party games. The Switch has been getting alot more 3rd party support then previous Nintendo consoles.
